Toyota Century SUV: New Luxury SUV From The Brand Arrives With A 3.5 Hybrid V6 Engine, All-Wheel Drive, And Japanese Craftsmanship.

Toyota has just written a new chapter in its history with the launch of the Century SUV, the most luxurious and sophisticated vehicle ever produced by the brand. Inspired by the legendary Century sedan, the ultimate symbol of status in Japan since the 1960s, the new model emerges as a fusion of handcraft tradition and cutting-edge hybrid technology.

The project was officially revealed by Toyota in Tokyo and aims to bring the comfort of a limousine to the SUV format, catering to an audience that seeks exclusivity and absolute silence on wheels. This is not an ordinary SUV; the Century SUV is handcrafted, in extremely limited volumes, and positioned even above the Lexus LX line, considered the top range in the brand’s portfolio.

3.5 Liter Hybrid V6 Engine And Intelligent All-Wheel Drive

At the heart of the new Century SUV is a 3.5-liter hybrid plug-in V6 engine (PHEV), paired with a high-power electric system. The setup combines efficiency, silence, and instant torque, delivering an unparalleled driving experience.

According to Toyota, the hybrid system is derived from the GA-K architecture, the same used in premium models like the Grand Highlander and the Lexus TX.

Although the brand has not disclosed exact performance figures, estimates from the specialized press suggest a combined power close to 400 hp, with linear acceleration and optimized fuel consumption.

The drive is all-wheel (E-Four Advanced), electronically distributing torque between the axles to ensure maximum stability — a feature that combines luxury and safety even on slippery surfaces.

Imposing Design And Refined Aerodynamics

The Century SUV impresses with its stature and elegance. With straight lines, classic proportions, and an imposing front grille, the model conveys presence and quiet power.

The bodywork is sculpted with millimeter attention to detail, featuring hand-polished surfaces and multi-layer paint that takes days to complete, a traditional process by Toyota in its luxury models.

The rear doors have a 75-degree opening, allowing easy access and feature soft electric closure.

The headlights and taillights are fully LED with exclusive optical signature, while the raised golden Century emblem reaffirms the SUV’s status as a handcrafted masterpiece.

Limousine-Worthy Interior: Comfort And Absolute Silence

Upon entering the Century SUV, it is impossible not to notice the total focus on luxury and rear passenger comfort. The reclining rear seats have massage, heating, ventilation, and leg extension functions, as well as individual temperature control and entertainment through independent screens.

The acoustic insulation is one of the most advanced ever created by Toyota, combining laminated glass with active noise cancellation system.

There is also configurable ambient lighting, electric curtains, a panoramic roof, and even a built-in umbrella holder in the doors, just like in Rolls-Royce.

The dashboard adopts a 12.3-inch multimedia system, full integration with smartphones, and interface by voice commands. Despite all the technology, the brand has maintained noble handcrafted materials, such as natural Japanese wood and hand-stitched leather, preserving the silent luxury heritage of the Century line.

Exclusivity And Handcrafted Production In Japan

The production of the Toyota Century SUV takes place in a handcrafted manner at the Higashi-Fuji plant in Japan.
Each unit is manually assembled by specialized technicians, a process that combines tradition and precision, following the same finish standards as the Century sedan, used by heads of state and Japanese executives.

Toyota stated that it aims to produce only a few hundred units per year, reinforcing the model’s exclusivity and collector’s value. The price in Japan exceeds the equivalent of R$ 1.2 million, making it the most expensive vehicle ever sold by Toyota.

Japanese Luxury: The “Omotenashi” Philosophy

More than luxury, the Century SUV reflects the Japanese concept of omotenashi, which means “total hospitality.”

The philosophy guides the design to meet the passenger’s needs even before they realize it — from internal silence to the angle of the rear seatback. Every detail has been considered to create a sense of serenity, something Toyota describes as “mobility that elevates the soul.”

With the Century SUV, Toyota enters a territory dominated by names like Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga, offering an eastern interpretation of absolute luxury.

This is not a vehicle for ostentation but rather to be driven with discretion and refinement, in keeping with the style of Japanese leaders.

The model symbolizes a new phase for Toyota: a brand capable of combining tradition, electrification, and exclusivity, while maintaining the reliability that built its reputation.
