As most of our readers know and was presented on our portal first at the time, Odebrecht Engineering & Construction signed a contract with Furnas on March 19, 2018, to increase the installed capacity of the Santa Cruz Thermoelectric Power Plant, located in the city of the same name, in the State of Rio de Janeiro. Among all the companies that participated in the bidding at the time, Odebrecht submitted a budget 7% lower than its competitors, thereby winning the contract for these works.

Since the announcement, many expectations have been created by professionals who have been seeking re-employment in the market, aggravated by one of the largest economic recessions in recent years in Brazil. Our emails and social media inboxes were always full of the same questions: “Have the works started? What is the contact? Positions…”

Unfortunately, we also did not know anything at the time, and after so much waiting, FINALLY THE DOUBTS ENDED TODAY!

Odebrecht Prepares For Contracts in Santa Cruz

Yesterday (23), Odebrecht Engineering and Construction published the above photo followed by the following text: “One of the great milestones of OEC last year was winning the contract for the modernization of the Santa Cruz Thermoelectric Power Plant, in Rio de Janeiro. After the completion of the works, the installed capacity of the plant will jump to 507 MW.”

We need not say the euphoria this caused among those who saw the publication; all of them (including us) were anxious for a means of contact, job openings, or any other relevant information to try to secure an opportunity in these works. Well, we took the simplest route and simply asked what the contact was to send resumes, and they ended up responding to us.

To all interested, you can send your resumes to the email sinesantacruz@gmail.com, indicating the desired position in the subject line. See in the screenshot below the confirmation from Odebrecht Engineering and Construction itself so there is no doubt:

Installed Capacity and Services to Be Executed

The UTE Santa Cruz currently operates with 350 megawatts of capacity, according to data from the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel).

The closure of the so-called combined cycle at the plant is expected to guarantee a final capacity of at least 507 megawatts net, according to bidding documents.

According to the Official Gazette, the contract with the Odebrecht consortium will have a duration of 58 months and under a full contract regime, which means that the company will be responsible for engineering services, civil works, material supply, electromechanical assembly, and commissioning of the unit, among other activities.

The responsibility for hiring lies with Sine Santa Cruz, but fortunately, it is not limited to residents of the region, so you can send your resumes without fear. Good luck to everyone.
