Imetame notified the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), informing that within the ES-T-441 block, located in the onshore part of the Espírito Santo Basin, there are indications of oil in the Tune prospect.
The new oil discovery news from Imetame is proof of that. The ES-T-441 block, where there are signs of oil, was acquired by the company in 2018, which paid an estimated signing bonus of R$ 1 million. In November 2020, EnP acquired 50% of this and four more onshore oil exploration blocks in the Espírito Santo Basin.
Both on land and at sea, exploration in Espírito Santo has been gaining momentum in 2021. In mid-April 20, in partnership with EnP, Imetame began drilling an onshore oil well in the Tune prospect. According to the CEO of EnP, Márcio Felix, “The drilling of an onshore pioneer well always brings expectations of good discoveries”.
Exploration of oil wells in Brazil
Earlier this month, it was Recôncavo Energia's turn to notify the ANP about the discovery of signs of oil in the onshore well 1-FFL-1-BA, located in the Recôncavo Basin. The first exploratory period for this well will be valid until June 17th. The second will have an exploration period until June 2023.
In April, Petrobras started a new exploration campaign off the coast of Espírito Santo. On April 06, drilling of an oil well began in the offshore block ES-M-669, which was acquired by the company in the 11th Bidding Round, in 2013, by the ANP. Petrobras operates in the area with a 40% stake in partnership with Total and Equinor.
