Imetame notified the National Agency of Petroleum (ANP), informing that within the block ES-T-441, located in the onshore part of the Espírito Santo Basin, there are signs of oil in the Sintonia prospect.
The new news from Imetame about the oil discovery is proof of this. The block ES-T-441, where there are signs of oil, was acquired by the company in 2018, which paid a signing bonus estimated at R$ 1 million. In November 2020, EnP acquired 50% of this block and four other onshore oil exploration blocks in the Espírito Santo Basin.
Both on land and at sea, exploration in Espírito Santo has been gaining momentum in 2021. In mid-April, in partnership with EnP, Imetame began drilling an onshore oil well at the Sintonia prospect. According to EnP CEO Márcio Felix, “Drilling a pioneering onshore well always brings expectations of good discoveries.”
Oil Well Exploration in Brazil
Earlier this month, Recôncavo Energia notified the ANP about the discovery of signs of oil in the onshore well 1-FFL-1-BA, located in the Recôncavo Basin. The first exploration period for this well will be valid until June 17. The second will have an exploration deadline until June 2023.
In April, Petrobras began a new exploration campaign off the coast of Espírito Santo. On April 6, it started drilling an oil well in the offshore block ES-M-669, which was acquired by the company in the 11th Round of Bidding in 2013, by ANP. Petrobras operates in the area with a 40% stake in partnership with Total and Equinor.
