Ocyan seeks to decrease hh
Ocyan and the Wave Challenge program

Ocyan's innovation program has a pilot project that seeks to reduce by 20% the hour/human in the inspection processes of electrical equipment

Ocyan's Ocyan Waves Challenge innovation program is now entering its final phase with the completion of several pilot projects.
One of them is from the São Paulo startup Confirm8, which optimizes and simplifies the inspection of electrical equipment operating in potentially explosive atmospheres (EX) and proposes to reduce the time spent in these processes by 20%. See coverage of the ANP mega-auction here!

“Since we have never worked with companies in the oil and gas sector, we faced some difficulties inherent to the business, but we can say that we have made good progress so far. Now, in the final phase, we believe that we will have all the pilot's validations”, highlights Otávio Yamanaka, founder of Confirm8.

According to him, in addition to the fit of the product with the proposed challenges, Confirm8 has already gone through a very similar pilot execution process with Braskem in 2018. “We are in the hiring phase with Braskem, adding the knowledge obtained in the Petrochemical segment and also with the product. We see a great opportunity now to collaborate with Ocyan”, comments Yamanaka.

Confirm8's proposal is focused on asset and facility maintenance management, with a system that adapts to all processes
technical. The company also develops a mobile application that transforms any mobile device into a powerful data collector and validator. For Ocyan, it was found that the priority was to improve the technical inspection processes so that they were in accordance with the regulatory standard IEC/NBR., and the solution proposed by them seemed to meet this need.

The Confirm8 members involved in this project had to take a Navy course, the CBSP (Basic Platform Safety Course), for five days, for 40 hours, in Santos (SP). There, they received certification to act on board, acquiring training such as firefighting and general exercises on the high seas.

New perspectives

The company believes it will be able to implement something similar in other companies in the sector. “Not exactly the same project, because this one has some particularities. But it will definitely be along the same lines.
We want to expand to the complete use of the system and app, involving other processes to multiply management results”, points out the founder.

Otávio also believes that participating in the Ocyan Waves Challenge will open doors, above all, for the internationalization of the business, since many foreign oil and gas companies operate in Brazil. With the technical knowledge obtained, this program will position Confirm8 as a reference in innovation in the segment.

The Ocyan Waves Challenge is the first program on the Ocyan Waves platform, created by the company to seek innovation initiatives to improve its operations, bringing greater efficiency and safety to its employees and customers, encouraging the startup ecosystem and directly contributing to the new generation of suppliers of the oil and gas sector in Brazil.
