Samsung partnered with the University of São Paulo (USP) and will offer 35 places in a free training course in Software Development Engineering. The labor market in this area is very promising and lacks trained professionals.
The course is completely remote and you can do it from your home. It will focus on the Windows platform and was developed by the Department of Computer Engineering and Digital Systems at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo, sponsored by Samsung, and supported by SiDi, one of the largest institutes of technology and science in the country. How is the job market for professional software development?
The branch of systems analysis and development, as well as software engineering, is one of the fastest growing in Brazil and in the world in recent years. The salary of someone who works with Software Development, depending on the type of programming language and the position held in the company, can exceed R$7.000,00 and reach more than R$15.000,00. You know what's even better? Most vacancies, 91%, are for remote work. That is, you earn a good salary and still work from home.
How does it work and how to apply for this free training course?
The free training course promoted by USP and Samsung will train selected students to work in different segments of software development. Check out what you can learn if you participate in the course:
- C# programming (basic and advanced);
- Version control;
- Introduction to cloud computing;
- Agile Methodologies for software development;
- User experience (UX);
- User interface (UI) development;
- Introduction to DevOps;
- Secure programming.
Classes will be set up and taught by professors with extensive training in Software Engineering and Development and students will carry out team projects under the mentorship of these specialists. Classes will take place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, lasting from 19 pm to 22 pm, starting on June 20. The duration is 5 months.
Who can apply?
To register and compete for vacancies, prior knowledge of programming in C, C++ or Java, knowledge of Object Orientation and knowledge of the English language are required. In addition, it is necessary to be enrolled in an undergraduate course or to have completed an undergraduate course no more than 2 years ago and to be enrolled in an undergraduate course or to have completed an undergraduate course in the area of engineering and/or IT (Information Technology). Information).
Selection process steps
The selection process starts with the registration in the website by filling out a form with your basic information. After confirming your registration, you will receive an email containing information about the basic knowledge test that will be applied between June 07th and 09th. Finally, the candidates with the best scores will be selected to take part in the course. The result will be released by June 13.

Eduardo Conejo, innovation manager in the Research and Development area at Samsung, says that the company is looking for new professionals to converge the use of mobile devices with microcomputers through the Windows system. In this way, encouraging the training of professionals can be very interesting to generate developers aligned with what the company seeks and who may have promising job opportunities.
Jaime Simão Sichman, professor and head of the Department of Computer Engineering and Digital Systems at the Polytechnic School of USP, also emphasizes the importance of this association between company and university to align knowledge with practice and produce professionals aimed at certain specialties that the market is demanding.
