Naturgy Highlights Growth of the Network and Expansion of Natural Gas Distribution by 2025, Investing R$ 56.6 Million to Attract 53,000 Customers.
Naturgy revealed its projections for the future of Natural Gas, with ambitious goals for the coming years. The company plans to significantly expand its distribution network by 2025, aiming to attract at least 53,000 new customers. To achieve this, it intends to invest R$ 56.6 million, focusing on robust growth of the existing infrastructure. During the SINDIGÁS event, the Metropolitan Territorial Operations Manager, André Otoni, shared insights on this strategy and emphasized the importance of sustainable and efficient development of this energy resource.
In the context of the energy industry, Natural Gas stands out as a cleaner and more efficient alternative for the fuel market. The company sees Natural Gas as an opportunity to replace the traditional use of other fuels, promoting its environmental benefits. Considering that a significant portion of Natural Gas is composed of Methane, its combustion results in lower emissions of pollutants, making it a preferred choice for many industries and households. This movement not only contributes to energy efficiency but also reduces long-term costs.
Company Expectations for the Next Year
The company’s projection indicates that, for the next year, at least 53,000 new customers will be secured, requiring an investment of approximately R$ 56.6 million. According to the executive, the distinction lies not in Natural Gas itself, but in the service we provide. We maintain a strict safety standard, and our partner organizations are aware of this. This financial investment is planned for market injection, encompassing the construction of polyethylene networks, internal installations, and attracting new customers. Thus, it was detailed by the executive.

Growth and Market Integration
It is estimated that the increase in the number of customers comes, in part, from new buildings, small industries, and GNV sales points, primarily in the residential sector. The considerable investment in network expansion and the desired growth of the network will also benefit commerce in these areas. André Otoni further highlighted the benefits of Natural Gas, as well as the unusual growth opportunities, areas of focus, communication channels, and essential resources for achieving the desired results.
Dialogue and Strategic Collaborations
Organized by the Syndicate of the Electrical Installations, Gas, Hydraulic and Sanitary Industry of Rio de Janeiro (Sindistal) and supported by Naturgy, the event took place on the 26th at Casa Firjan in Botafogo. The aim of the meeting is to stimulate discussions among the productive chains, public service concessionaires in Rio de Janeiro, and manufacturers of technical materials, thus solidifying the participation in the Natural Gas Scenario. In each interaction, Methane, as a main component of Natural Gas, will also be considered in the discussions, illustrating the strengthening of the collaboration network.
