The declarations to ease the value of the electricity bill and bring investments in renewable sources show the intentions to generate joint efforts in the technical, regional regulatory and economic aspects, in addition to the achievement of large investments in bilateral projects.

The high-level group formed during the Joint Declarations will also function as a forum for consultation and guidance on aspects related to the progress and analysis of activities, directing new studies required.

Another important detail was to reaffirm the commitment to integration and regional energy development, considering this point as a strong instrument for the economic and sustainable development of countries, in addition to the well-being of society.

New hydroelectric plants and renewable sources in Brazil

With Bolivia, there are studies for investment in a new binational hydroelectric plant, located on the Mamoré River, above the Municipality of Guajará-Mirim, in the State of Rondônia, relying on the experience of Itaipu and also possibilities of interconnection between the states of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul with the neighboring country, and also analyzes whether it is feasible to carry out exchanges between Brazil and Bolivia, through Argentina.

Regarding Argentina, there is a study to install two hydroelectric plants on the Uruguay River: the Panambi and Garabi projects, which will bring electricity generated from renewable sources to Brazil and Argentina, in addition to solidifying the integration of energy between the two countries. .

Countries involved demonstrate a solid partnership for investments in renewable energies

Both for the executive technical director of the binational, Celso Torino, and for the Brazilian general director of Itaipu, João Francisco Ferreira, the negotiations demonstrate a solid partnership for the sovereignty and development of the countries involved.

Brazil takes another big step towards new partnerships that will bring investments and hydroelectric plants that will reduce the value of the electricity bill and should soon become something concrete so that countries can have more cooperation in the guaranteed energy field, bringing greater electrical safety for everyone, through the brotherhood that governs relationships.

It is worth mentioning that CIER is an international non-profit organization of unlimited duration, which is recognized by the government and brings together organizations and companies from the energy sector of the member countries, as well as related entities and associated members. CIER's mission is to favor and promote the integration of the energy sector in the region through the joint cooperation of its members.
