With the Aim of Training Professionals in the Fastest Growing Sector in Recent Years, Senai Is Creating Courses for Training in Photovoltaic Solar Energy
The National Service for Industrial Training (Senai) has completed a training and improvement plan with courses at ten technical schools across the country to qualify new professionals, developed in partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit and the Research and Training Center in Photovoltaic Solar Energy at the Federal University of Santa Catarina.

The Senai plan aimed to expand knowledge about solar energy within the network of technical schools of the institution for the opening of training courses.
The teaching centers that underwent a kind of selection process received donations from partner companies, which helped with equipment. The 10 units that received equipment for photovoltaic training courses were: Senai Antônio Simões School in Manaus (AM), the Professional and Technological Education Center of Imperatriz (MA), the Professional Training Center of Santa Rita, Macapá (AP), the Senai of the Industrial District of Cuiabá (MT), the Senai Areias Technical School in Recife (PE), the CDTSVE Stefan Bogdan Salej in Santa Rita do Sapucaí (MG), the CTC Wildson Gonçalves in Teresina (PI), Senai-RS/GEPTEC in Porto Alegre (RS), Senai Firjan Tijuca in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), and the unit in Jaraguá do Sul (SC).

The world has bet on green hydrogen as the fuel of the future, but now faces the side effect: producing 1 kilogram requires about 9 liters of ultrapure water, and the largest projects on the planet are precisely in the driest regions of the Earth, where water is already scarce for people.

Africa has about 500,000 cell towers and most still burn diesel to operate, while companies rush to cover antennas with solar energy and avoid signal blackouts.
-
Farmers swapped diesel for solar panels in Pakistan, powered irrigation pumps almost cost-free, expanded rice fields, and now groundwater has become a red alert in the countryside.

Migrant workers left the world’s largest renewable energy park in India after extreme heat, 12-hour shifts, delayed wages, and poor accommodations at a site that still promises to supply 18 million homes.
Twenty professionals from these Senai units received theoretical and practical training to teach the new technical and higher education courses offered by the participating units.
Senai Courses Will Train Professionals of the Future
Until last year, around 63 schools spread across 14 states already offered technical training for professionals in the photovoltaic solar energy sector and other renewable energies.
The courses include Installation of Photovoltaic Systems, Photovoltaic System Projects, Installation of FV Systems, and Renewable Energy Systems. The Senai instructor in Pernambuco, Antônio Negreiros, who has worked at the institution since 2011, participated in the instructional module that focused on content about sizing and projects of photovoltaic solar energy systems. He states that these new courses offered by the institution are of utmost importance, given that the subject is still underrepresented in the country.
GIZ Study
The teaching of photovoltaic solar energy technology is a strategic activity in the country, according to a study published by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
The study details the needs of the sector from the perspective of professionals specialized in services related to the production chain. The work was carried out within the framework of technical cooperation between Germany and Brazil in the sector of renewable sources and energy efficiency, by GIZ in partnership with IDEAL, IESS, UFSC, and Cognitio Consulting.
