Santander Brazil and EIB Seal Historic Agreement for Small Investments in Solar Energy
The European Investment Bank (EIB) and Santander Brazil have entered into a historic partnership by signing an agreement worth 300 million euros (approximately 1.5 billion reais) to boost small investments in solar energy in Brazil. According to Terra Notícias, the initiative was finalized during the last European Union summit with the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States held in Brussels.
The funds from the agreement between Santander and the EIB will be directed toward the construction of small-scale photovoltaic solar plants in Brazil, with a special focus on rooftops of residential buildings and commercial establishments. This approach aims to democratize access to solar energy and encourage sustainability in the private sector.
Affordable Rates for Solar Energy Projects and Benefits for Families and Small Businesses
With the financial support from the EIB, loans for solar energy projects will feature competitive rates starting at 1.79% per month and repayment terms extending up to 96 installments. These conditions favor families and small businesses, making investments in renewable sources more accessible and providing savings on electricity bills.
