The New WEG Technology to Charge Electric Vehicles Aims to Reach Even More Gas Stations and Residential Garages
WEG, a Brazilian company specialized in electrical solutions and automation, recently announced a partnership with General Motors (GM) for the provision of technologies for electric vehicle battery charging. With their combined efforts, the companies aim to expand the network available in garages and residential parking lots, offering state-of-the-art charging stations up to three times faster than the standard available on the market, according to NSC Total.
According to WEG, the electric vehicle charging stations will be provided by 78 Chevrolet vehicles, a specialist in electric vehicles. The technology ensures an extra 40 kilometers of range with 15 minutes of charging, and allows the driver to operate and monitor the battery via a mobile app. Additionally, the equipment can be connected to a solar energy generation installation and be installed in clusters to serve multiple users in a condominium or large parking lots.
Protection Against Rain and Solar Rays
The WEG electric vehicle charging stations also feature protection against rain and solar rays when placed in an uncovered area, ensuring greater safety for users and increased durability of the equipment. “We are taking another important step in our strategy to make WEG the leading provider of infrastructure for electric vehicle charging and a reference in efficient, smart, and intelligent solutions for the electric mobility segment,” emphasizes Carlos Bastos Grillo, WEG Digital & Systems Superintendent Director.
