Unprecedented Partnership Between Uber and iFood Will Allow Rides and Meals to Be Ordered in a Single App, Starting with Brazilian Cities in the Second Semester
Uber and iFood have formed a partnership that will integrate the services of both platforms. The announcement was made this week and promises to change the way users access deliveries and transportation.
With this innovation, it will be possible to order an Uber ride directly from the iFood app and make orders on iFood without leaving the Uber app.
The goal of the partnership is to make life easier for consumers. It will no longer be necessary to switch between apps to order food, shop at grocery stores, or request a ride.

According to Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, half of users already frequently use both services. For him, the integration helps consolidate mobility and deliveries in one place.
Diego Barreto, CEO of iFood, said the partnership could also generate more demand for registered restaurants, pharmacies, and grocery stores. In addition, there is an expectation that opportunities for delivery workers and partner drivers from both platforms will increase.
The integration will be carried out in phases. It begins in the second semester, in some cities in Brazil. Afterwards, it will be expanded to the entire country.
In the Uber app, the “Delivery” tab will be updated with iFood’s offerings. Meanwhile, in the iFood app, a tab called “Mobility” will be created, through which users can request rides with Uber.
For now, the subscription programs remain separate. Uber One and iFood Clube continue without changes. However, the companies are considering launching joint initiatives in the future.
The Uber Direct service for businesses and Uber Flash for package delivery continue to operate normally. iFood will also maintain its logistics service for partners and the On Demand service aimed at those who operate outside the platform.
