Engie's new wind energy park in the state of Bahia begins to get off the ground

The company Engie announced this Tuesday that the wind farm Campo Largo IX, in Bahia, received authorization from Aneel, to start operations from today, February 23rd.

The wind energy park in Bahia, has an installed capacity of 25,2 MW and is part of the Campo Largo II Wind Farm, which is formed by a set of wind energy generation projects, with an installed capacity of 361,2 MW, with energy totally directed to the Free Contracting Environment (ACL).

Aneel authorizes the Campo Largo II wind farm in Bahia

The wind energy park, which Aneel authorized, is part of the Campo Largo II Wind Farm, which is located in the municipality of Umburanas, in Bahia, which is approximately 420 km from Salvador/Bahia, in the same region where the company commercially operates the Campo Largo and Umburanas Wind Farms, thus benefiting from the synergy of existing structures, such as the substation and the transmission line, according to the company.

Shortly after the completion of the implementation of the second phase of Campo Largo, which is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2021, Engie Brasil Energia's installed wind power capacity will exceed 1 GW in the region.

Aneel plans to release more than 4 MW for entry into commercial operation

The National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) plans to release around 2021 megawatts (MW) in 4.790,48 for entry into commercial operation. In the month of January alone, Aneel inspection released 159,67 MW for commercial operation, of which 135,99 MW (85% of the total) in wind generation projects, 17,70 MW (11%) in hydro generation from small hydroelectric plants, and 5,98 MW (4%) from thermoelectric plants.
