A Project Aiming to Build a Wind Farm Plans to Distribute Renewable Energy to 580 Thousand Homes.
The project in question is by the company Aliança Energia, which on Tuesday (21) revealed it has invested R$ 732 million in the construction of its new wind farm, located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte.
In a statement, the company revealed that the project generated over 800 jobs. In addition, the company informed that the project has an installed capacity of 109.2 MW, enough to supply approximately 580 thousand residences at the average consumption standard of the Northeast.
The inauguration of the project, titled Acauã Wind Complex, took place on Tuesday. On that occasion, Carlos Henrique Afonso, administrative director of the Complex, said that “the interest in investing in the region is due to its high productive potential.”

The world has bet on green hydrogen as the fuel of the future, but now faces the side effect: producing 1 kilogram requires about 9 liters of ultrapure water, and the largest projects on the planet are precisely in the driest regions of the Earth, where water is already scarce for people.
“It is among the best wind locations in Brazil. The region is proving to be quite promising; evidence of this is that there are already other wind complexes installed in the surrounding area,” he said, explaining that this new wind farm consists of 26 wind turbines.
Furthermore, the park has an installed capacity of 4.2 MW each, distributed across four wind farms in the municipalities of Santana do Matos, Lagoa Nova, São Vicente, and Tenente Laurentino Cruz.
“The enterprise also features a transmission line with an extension of 17.7 km, with 53 galvanized steel towers, connecting the complex to the substation, integrating the generated energy into the National Interconnected System (SIN),” added the director.
Company Has Other Ready Projects
Today, Aliança Energia has seven hydropower plants in Minas Gerais and two wind complexes in Ceará. According to Carlos Henrique, the region is among the best places in the world to produce wind energy.
“We have quality wind, with constant speed that doesn’t change direction, which contributes to a very good final average,” he explained, further emphasizing the generation of 800 direct jobs and many more indirect ones, as the suppliers used in the construction of the project are national.
“We practically don’t need to import anything; we find everything here, and this boosts the domestic market. However, I believe that our challenge is to reduce the price of clean energy so that it becomes even more accessible,” he concluded.
