However, it is important to consider the composition of the gasoline sold at the pumps, which contains a mandatory blend of 73% gasoline A and 27% anhydrous ethanol.
In this context, Petrobras’s share of the price that will be passed on to consumers will, on average, be R$ 2.14 per liter sold at the pump.
Additionally, it is worth noting that throughout the year, there was an accumulated reduction of R$ 0.15 per liter in the selling price of gasoline A from Petrobras to distributors.
For diesel, Petrobras is also implementing changes in fuel prices. The average selling price of diesel A to distributors will be adjusted by R$ 0.78 per liter, totaling R$ 3.80 per liter.
As with gasoline, it is essential to consider the mandatory blend in diesel sold at the pumps, which consists of 88% diesel A and 12% biodiesel.
This will result in an average share of Petrobras in the consumer price of about R$ 3.34 per liter sold at the pump.
In the year-to-date, there is a reduction of R$ 0.69 per liter in the selling price of diesel A from Petrobras to distributors.
Adjustments in Fuel Prices Reflect the Commercial Strategies Adopted by the State-Owned Company
According to the company’s statement, it is necessary to emphasize that the final prices charged to consumers at fuel stations are not influenced solely by the adjustments made by Petrobras.
Several other factors must be considered, such as taxes, biofuel blends, and profit margins in distribution and resale, which also play a fundamental role in the formation of the prices practiced.
The state-owned company further emphasizes that the implementation of the commercial strategy, in place of the previous pricing policy, reflected the optimized refining and logistics conditions of the company.
This approach allowed for price adjustments over time, seeking stability in the face of external price volatility.
However, the company highlights the need for continuous adjustments to ensure balance with the market and its marginal values.
“In order to contribute to price transparency and better understanding by society, Petrobras publishes on its website information regarding its share and that of other agents in the formation and composition of average fuel prices to consumers,” the company concluded in its statement.
Now, it remains for the fuel market to await the possible impacts of the gasoline and diesel price adjustments in the coming days.
