Petrobras Invests R$ 2.6 Billion in Works and Factory Resumption
Petrobras announced R$ 2.6 billion in investments in the Bahian industry.
Among the actions is the construction of six vessels at the Enseada do Paraguaçu Shipyard, in Maragogipe.
The ships will be used for leak control offshore and will have engines that reduce CO₂ emissions by 25%.
The vessels will contain 40% domestic content and are expected to generate 5,400 jobs.
The state-owned company will also reactivate the Nitrogen Fertilizer Factories in Bahia and Sergipe, with R$ 52 million for each unit.
With this resumption, it will be possible to produce 1.3 thousand tons daily of ammonia and urea, essential products for agribusiness.
Petrobras estimates to meet 20% of the national fertilizer consumption, reducing dependence on imports.
BYD Opens Mega Factory for Electric Vehicles in Camaçari
The Chinese BYD opened its new electric vehicles factory in Camaçari (BA).
The investment of R$ 5.5 billion is part of the brand’s expansion strategy in Brazil.
The plant will have an initial capacity of 150,000 cars per year, which could double in the second phase.
The operation will create 20,000 direct and indirect jobs, boosting the local economy.
During the ceremony, BYD representatives reinforced their commitment to clean mobility.
“We believe in the strength of the Brazilian industry and the future of sustainable mobility,” highlighted a company spokesperson.
Enseada Shipyard Receives New River Transport Projects
The Enseada Shipyard will also benefit from an investment of R$ 611.7 million, aimed at the construction of 80 mineral barges.
These vessels will be responsible for transporting minerals between Corumbá (MS) and Nueva Palmira (Uruguay), thus strengthening river logistics between Brazil and neighboring countries.
Of this amount, R$ 550.5 million will come from the Merchant Marine Fund, through the BNDES, while another R$ 61.2 million will be provided by LHG Mining.
In addition, with the participation of five other shipyards, the overall plan foresees the production of 400 barges and 15 river pushers, which significantly increases transport capacity and job generation in the Brazilian naval sector.
Bahia Experiences New Cycle of Industrial Growth
The announcements from Petrobras and BYD represent, therefore, a new phase for the Brazilian industry.
Focused on jobs, technology, and sustainability, the projects reinforce Brazil’s role as a productive and innovative power.
Moreover, Bahia solidifies itself as a true symbol of national reindustrialization and the energy transition.
Thus, these investments show that the country is prepared to grow strategically, with innovation, environmental responsibility, and a vision for the future.
