Among the projects planned by Petrobras for the GasLub Hub is the UTG Itaboraí, which is part of the Integrated Project Rota 3 and the integration with the Duque de Caxias refinery (Reduc).
The Brazilian oil giant Petrobras made available on Tuesday, July 19, a market consultation (Request for Information – RFI) to assess the interest of companies in acquiring company-owned land located in Itaboraí (RJ), where the GasLub Hub is installed.
According to Petrobras, out of a total flattened area of about 3 km², the state-owned company has 2.1 km² available for potential negotiation, allowing the opportunity for more investments to be directed to the region by other agents, with the development of new economic activities.
Petrobras Reinforces Commitment to the State of Rio de Janeiro for the Industrial Development of the GasLub Hub in Itaboraí.
Based on the information provided by interested parties who respond to the consultation, Petrobras will evaluate the models with the greatest potential for the offer of available land, in order to maximize mutual interests.

With this initiative, the company reinforces the commitment made in the letter of intent signed in September 2021 with the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro, the Itaboraí city hall, and the Federation of Industries of Rio de Janeiro (Firjan), which aims for the industrial development of the GasLub Hub.
Among the projects planned by Petrobras for the GasLub Hub is the Itaboraí Natural Gas Treatment Unit (UTG Itaboraí), which is part of the scope of the Integrated Project Rota 3. This project, which involves a gas pipeline and processing infrastructure, will have the capacity to process 21 million m³ per day of natural gas from the pre-salt hub of the Santos Basin.
The company is also evaluating the integration of the GasLub Hub assets with the Duque de Caxias refinery (Reduc), for the production of base oils and fuels, and the construction of a thermoelectric plant.
