Decision Caught Workers, Unions, and Even Petrobras Managers by Surprise. The Eviction of the Novo Cavaleiros Building in Macaé Should Happen by December 2020
Petrobras will vacate the Edinc (Novo Cavaleiros Building) in Macaé by December 2020. The information caught everyone by surprise at the end of the day today (07/11).
The fact was confirmed by the Northern Fluminense Oil Workers Union (Sindipetro-NF), which verified the information with the property’s owner fund, which claims to have received a letter from Petrobras formalizing the intention to discontinue its operations at the Corporate Building in Macaé by the end of 2020.
The document received by the property administrator in Macaé on the last day, 08, also states that Petrobras will pay all contractual termination expenses and charges due by the stipulated date.
Sindipetro-NF, through its coordinator, called all the human resources managers in the region, who were unaware of the matter but later confirmed the discontinuation of operations at Edinc with other Petrobras managers.

The union’s coordinator also stated that the situation is even more serious because it occurs without the knowledge of the company’s own managers, which, according to him, shows a total lack of planning.
The Edinc
Currently, about 1,700 oil workers are active in the Edinc, supporting Petrobras’s operations in the region, and the company has not officially commented on the matter.
What is known, unofficially, is that the employees in Macaé will gradually be relocated to the Imbetiba and Tubes Park bases.
Sindipetro-NF expressed total discontent with Petrobras’s decision and showed concern, as this issue is not new to the company, since the Edisp (Petrobras Headquarters Building in São Paulo) was also closed, and at that time, an HR manager stated that those who “remained” would be laid off.
The Union will address the matter during the assembly of the Claim Campaign scheduled for Edinc next Tuesday, 16, at 1 PM.
