The New Shell Drilling Campaign Will Be at the Parque das Conchas in the Campos Basin and Will Have Three Firm Wells and Three Options

Shell, an international energy company with experience in the exploration, production, refining, and marketing of oil and natural gas, announced its drilling campaign in 2021. It will be in the area of Parque das Conchas in the Campos Basin. The drilling will consist of three firm wells and three optional. The oil company will also hire a rig to operate in Brazil by the end of the year.

The new rig will operate for about 120 days, and the company does not foresee the equipment working in Brazil, except for the drilling campaign in the Campos Basin.

Parque das Conchas:

The Parque das Conchas (BC-10) is one of Shell’s most challenging and successful deepwater projects, producing energy at depths greater than 1,800 meters off the coast of Brazil. It has been an innovative approach to unlocking more energy in the third phase of the project, which started operations in March 2016.

About Shell:

Shell is an international energy company with experience in the exploration, production, refining, and marketing of oil and natural gas, as well as in the manufacturing and marketing of chemical products.

Shell’s goal is to drive progress alongside increasingly cleaner energy solutions. They believe that the rising living standards for a growing global population will likely continue to drive demand for energy, including oil and gas, in the coming years.

At the same time, technological changes and the need to address climate change mean that there is an ongoing transition to a multi-source and lower-carbon energy system.
