Platform of Peugeot 208, Opel Corsa, and Citroën C3 and with the same DNA as the Fiat Argo. This is what will bring the rebirth of Lancia, which will update its most famous car, which will be electric.
After losing direction due to the merger that resulted in Stellantis, the traditional Italian manufacturer Lancia seems to have found its way. After spending a long time selling the old Lancia Ypsilon, derived from the Fiat 500, only in Italy, the brand now announces the new generation of its compact car, effectively marking a new phase for the company.
The new Lancia Ypsilon debuts as the first electric car from the Italian automaker. The car’s design is known to utilize the same platform as the Peugeot 208, Opel Corsa, and Citroën C3. However, it is considered much more sophisticated than any other compact from Stellantis.
Lancia Ypsilon Designer The photos reveal the shape of the body, doors, and cabin space. However, upon closer inspection, it is clear that the design is completely different. Images circulating on the internet show that the headlights of the new model are positioned right in the middle of the bumper.

The bumper of the model still features active air intakes that open only when necessary. The rear showcases round, separate taillights, a black strip with the brand name in the middle, and some details at the bottom of the bumper, a design that conveys a lot of personality.

On the side of the car, a coupe-like slope, alloy wheels, and a color similar to metallic blue can be observed. The car shown in the photo is a limited edition, with production restricted to 1,906 units.
As for the vehicle’s interior, photos have been released. In them, a considerably large central screen, a digital instrument cluster, seats in the same color as the bodywork, and a black central console can be seen, where there is a wireless charging base for smartphones.
Artificial Intelligence in the Model The new Ypsilon will be the company’s first vehicle to feature the Lancia SALA (Sound Air Light Augmentation) system. This functionality consists of a multimedia center and a digital instrument cluster, both equipped with embedded artificial intelligence capable of processing passenger commands. According to the company, this system will be present in the upcoming Lancia models: the new generation of the Gamma, as a crossover, and the new hatch Delta.

However, the company has already announced that the new Ypsilon model will have 156 hp and a 54 kWh battery, providing a range of approximately 400 km for the vehicle. Soon, the car will also receive mild hybrid versions, based on the three-cylinder 1.2 engine with 136 hp and 100 hp. Complete details about the vehicle will be revealed on February 14, the date of a major official presentation.
