Ford Announces Its Newest Pickup, The Ford F-150, Which Has The Capacity To Tow Up To 3.5 Tons And A Range Of Over 1,000 Km.
On last Friday (10), Ford announced the arrival of the F-150 pickup in the country. The model is the largest in its category within the company’s catalog, with the capacity to tow over 3.5 tons and features advanced steering assistance systems, nearing what is expected from semi-autonomous technologies.
Ford F-150 Delivers Over 1,000 Km Of Range
The Ford pickup is massive in practically every way, starting with the engine, which is the same used in the Mustang. It features a Coyote V8 that delivers 405 horsepower, with 56.7 kgfm of torque, working alongside a 10-speed transmission.
What makes the Ford F-150 different from the iconic sports car is its torque delivery at low revs, allowing the driver to carry weight more easily, as this vehicle is not focused on racing.

One aspect that contributes to the vehicle’s performance and strength is the choice of aluminum for the pickup, which enhances the overall body strength and torsional rigidity while ensuring a lighter weight to operate with the engine.
Ford claims that this alloy material made the truck lose approximately 200 kg. A standout feature of the Ford pickup is that it is the only vehicle in this category that uses this material instead of steel. Thus, the vehicle’s fuel tank holds 136 liters, sufficient to travel over 1,000 km on gasoline, without ethanol and no plans for this fuel in the future.
Ford Pickup Features Several State-Of-The-Art Technologies
In its bed, the Ford F-150 can carry up to 728 kg of cargo in the Lariat model and 681 kg in the Platinum, while both can hold 1,370 L of volume. For towing, the model easily carries 3.5 tons.
Both outside and inside, there is a lot of cutting-edge technology installed and comfort for all occupants. In total, there are 6 USB ports, three of type A and three of type C, along with three 110-volt outlets capable of delivering 400 W each. This makes it possible to even plug in an 8K TV, for example.
The model features 8 airbags and assisted steering systems, with adaptive cruise control that can stop and go, blind-spot monitoring that works even with a trailer attached, automatic braking, forward collision warning with help to steer away from an accident while considering lateral traffic, automatic headlights and wipers, lane-keeping assistance, and a 360-degree camera with detection of small objects in the rear to prevent any issues.
Ford has also installed an assistant that brakes the car if the driver enters an intersection with another vehicle approaching from the opposite direction. The same applies to cross traffic when exiting parking spaces.
Pre-Orders Start Today
Ford states that its pickup will start pre-sales on February 14 for those who have already purchased a vehicle from the company, or on the 16th of the same month for everyone else.
The brand has not disclosed the price of the Ford F-150, which, in addition to the number of speakers, has changes in versions only in the trim with more chrome in the Platinum and darker matte finish in the Lariat. The Ford pickup has everything it takes to compete equally with the RAM 1500, which costs on average R$ 445 thousand.
