Itajaí presents an international-standard cruise terminal, over 20,000 m² and with a structure for the largest ocean liners, after a season with 37 calls and 160,000 passengers, in a project that aims to unlock port operations and transform the city into a maritime tourism powerhouse.

With an investment of R$ 310 million, the Joinville Bridge will have approximately 1 km in length and will benefit 65,000 people daily.
According to information from the City Hall of Joinville, the project has already reached 5.8% completion, with financial measurements amounting to R$ 18 million.
The new infrastructure extends over mangrove areas, the Cachoeira River, and other watercourses, connecting the neighborhoods of Adhemar Garcia and Boa Vista.
Advanced Technology Boosts Construction
One of the major differentiators of the project is the cantitravel mechanism, an innovative structure designed to optimize construction.
According to the City Hall, the equipment will work alongside cranes, facilitating the installation of piles and the transportation of heavy materials.
This advanced system represents approximately 10% of the total cost of the project.
The construction site also includes a precast parts factory located near the construction area.
This way, the materials produced on-site can be easily transported, speeding up the timeline and ensuring greater accuracy.

Deadline and Funding
The contractual deadline for completing the Joinville Bridge is two years, with delivery expected in May 2026.
So far, work has focused on both ends of the link, in the neighborhoods of Adhemar Garcia and Boa Vista, as well as on assembling the necessary equipment.
To enable the project, the City Hall of Joinville has resorted to an international loan of US$ 40 million, a value that is currently being supplemented.
According to information from the municipal administration, this funding will be essential to keep the schedule on track and ensure the required technical standards.
Impact on Mobility and Economy
When completed, the Joinville Bridge will represent a definitive solution for traffic between the Southern and Eastern regions of the city.
The expectation is that around 65,000 people will cross the new structure daily, which will relieve existing roads and reduce travel times for thousands of workers, students, and residents.
According to the city hall, in addition to improving mobility, the bridge will have a positive impact on the local economy, with real estate appreciation in the benefiting neighborhoods and boosting commerce in the interconnected regions.

Structure and Engineering of the Bridge
The bridge will have 980 meters in length, designed with the aim of respecting the environment, as it will cross mangrove areas and other sensitive ecosystems.
The engineering of the project takes into account sustainable technologies, minimizing environmental impacts during execution.
For many, the Joinville Bridge is not just an infrastructure project, but a clear sign of progress.
By connecting important regions of the city, the structure symbolizes a more efficient and integrated future for Joinville.
Residents’ Expectation
Residents of the neighborhoods of Adhemar Garcia and Boa Vista are already celebrating the prospects of change.
For them, the bridge represents more quality of life, with faster and safer commutes.
According to the City Hall, in addition to immediate gains, the project also becomes an incentive for economic expansion, with new business opportunities and investments in both regions.
With the progress of the project, the expectation is that the Joinville Bridge will become one of the main urban landmarks in Santa Catarina in the coming years.
