Gasoline price increases by almost 50%

No Brazilian state had a drop in the price of gasoline. Ethanol, on the other hand, recorded a decline only in Rio Grande do Norte and Sergipe

The month of November ended with gasoline prices rising at all Brazilian pumps, according to the Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL). With an average value of R$ 6,926, fuel increased by 7,42%, compared to the closing of the national average in October, a period in which it already recorded a value of R$ 6,447.

Ethanol also showed consecutive increases with an average price of R$ 5,853

“This is the eighth increase in a row since April, the last month in which we saw a decrease in the price of gasoline, when the liter was sold at R$ 5,699. In comparison with November 2020, a period in which gasoline cost an average of R$ 4,622 at Brazilian service stations, the increase was 49,8%. Even so, when we consider the 70/30 ratio, fuel is the most advantageous option, if compared to the average for ethanol”, highlights Douglas Pina, Head Urban Market, by Edenred Brasil.

Ethanol also presented its eighth straight rise since April this year. With an average value of R$ 5,853, fuel is 28,2% more expensive for Brazilians. When the study makes a comparison with the closing of November 2020, in which fuel registered an average value of R$3,629, there was an increase of 61,3%.

In the regional cut, the highest price of gasoline was sold in the Midwest, for R$ 7,060. The South Region, despite again closing the month with the lowest average fuel price, of R$6,784 was the Region that recorded the highest increase in gasoline prices, reaching 8,44%.

The South also stood out with the highest price of ethanol, charged at R$ 6,280. The biggest rise for fuel was found in the Midwest, of 11,49%, with a liter going from R$5,145 to R$5,736. And the highest average price for ethanol was sold at R$5,652 in the Northeast Region.

Rio de Janeiro had the highest average price, in terms of gasoline (R$7,330)

The Brazilian state that had the highest average price of gasoline was Rio de Janeiro (R$7,330). The lowest average for the liter was identified in Amapá, for R$6,453. The biggest increase occurred in Roraima, changing from R$6,230 to R$6,846, an increase of 9,89%.

The states that recorded a drop in the price of ethanol were only Sergipe and Rio Grande do Norte, the latter with a reduction of 0,07% for Potiguares, from R$ 5,802 to R$ 5,798. Ethanol, which was previously charged at R$4,780 at Mato Grosso pumps, is now worth R$5,461, up 14,25%, the highest in the country for this fuel, compared to the end of October.

The IPTL is a fuel price index based on fueling carried out at the 21 accredited Ticket Log stations, which is highly reliable due to the number of vehicles managed by the brand: 1 million in all, with an average of eight transactions per second. Ticket Log, Edenred Brasil's fleet management and mobility solutions brand, has over 30 years of experience and adapts to customer needs, offering modern and innovative solutions in order to simplify daily processes.

To ease the pocket with the skyrocketing in the price of gasoline, ethanol, diesel and CNG, consumers turn to the Kit on the internet that promises a car powered by water with an initial value of less than R$ 200

The best of Brazil are the Brazilians, with the prices of gasoline, ethanol, diesel and CNG sky-high, there is no lack of advertisements for accessories that promise to reduce vehicle fuel consumption. The novelty on the internet is an apparatus that promises the conversion of conventional combustion engine cars, to be transformed into “water powered” cars, through a product known as a hydrogen kit.

The technology contraption offered on social networks and e-commerce sites has an initial price of less than R$200, but can exceed R$1.000, depending on the brand and configuration. But the promise is the same: the “technology” uses electricity from the alternator to extract hydrogen water, which is stored in a small tank.

Is a car powered by water possible? Watch the video below to understand the process:
