For those seeking free and quality professional qualification, the Federal Institute of Brasília (IFB) is offering a great opportunity.

The Estrutural Campus has opened registrations for Basic Spanish and Libras (Brazilian Sign Language) courses, both free and aimed at those who wish to expand their knowledge and stand out in the job market.

This initiative is part of the Initial and Continuing Education (FICs) courses, which aim to provide quick and accessible training for the population.

Registrations are free and occur exclusively online, following a specific schedule.

IFB Offers Spanish and Libras Courses

Globalization and inclusion have increased the demand for professionals who master foreign languages and Brazilian Sign Language.

In this context, IFB offers two essential courses for those who wish to expand their job opportunities:

  • Basic Spanish I (A1): aimed at beginners, with a workload of 80 hours.
Classes will be held in the evening on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:40 PM to 8:20 PM.
  • Libras – Basic Module: a more extensive course, with 200 hours, offered in the afternoon on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:50 PM to 4:40 PM.

Who Can Register?

The selection process is open to the general public but requires some minimum requirements:

  • For the Spanish course, it is necessary to have completed Elementary Education and be at least 16 years old.
  • For the Libras course, completion of Elementary Education is required, and the minimum age is 15 years old.

Slots are distributed as follows:

  • Basic Spanish I: 40 slots (open competition).
  • Libras – Basic Module: 40 slots, with 30 for open competition and 10 designated for employees of the DF Department of Education.

How Do Registrations and Selection Work?

Registrations for the courses are free and must be made exclusively through the IFB website.
The registration period runs from March 7 to March 13, 2025.

The selection of candidates will be done by electronic lottery, ensuring transparency and equal opportunities.

The lottery is scheduled for March 20, 2025, at 2 PM, in the Auditorium of Estrutural Campus.

Candidates’ presence on the day of the lottery is optional, but those who wish to attend should arrive at least 20 minutes early.

The final result will be announced on March 21, 2025, on the IFB website, along with the call for the enrollment of selected candidates.

Why Learn Spanish or Libras?

Mastering a second language or a sign language can be a significant advantage in the job market.

Spanish, for example, is the second most spoken language in the Western world, present in over 20 countries.

Libras is essential for those who wish to work in inclusion and accessibility, especially in education, public services, and health.

How to Secure Your Slot?

Interested parties should visit the official IFB website within the established timeframe and correctly fill out the required information on the registration form!

Since the selection is done by lottery, everyone has an equal chance of being chosen.
