Through the Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program, in partnership with the Federal Institute of Pernambuco (IFPE), Petrobras offers 473 slots in free professional qualification courses.

Who Can Participate in the Free Courses?

The courses are aimed at those who need it the most.

According to Petrobras, the priority is for people in situations of social and economic vulnerability, without formal employment, and belonging to marginalized groups.

Women, people with disabilities, Black, mixed-race, Indigenous, and other socially vulnerable groups will be prioritized in the selection process.

To facilitate access, enrollments can be done online, and the selection will be conducted by public draw.

In addition to specific technical knowledge, the program offers additional support for students. Those selected will have access to school reinforcement in Portuguese and mathematics, psychosocial support, and courses for developing socio-emotional skills.

Candidates need to fill out an online form and attach the required documents, such as identity, proof of residence, and others that prove their vulnerable condition.

What Courses Are Available?

At the campuses in Caruaru and Ipojuca, the courses offered range from welder, scaffold assembler, piping helper, machinery mechanic assembler, industrial painter, instrument technician, and others. Check below for details on some of the courses available at each campus:

Caruaru Campus:

Welder (34 slots, night shift, duration of 5 months)
Scaffold assembler (60 slots divided into morning and afternoon classes, duration of 5 months)
Piping helper (94 slots divided into three classes, morning, afternoon, and night shifts, duration of 4 months)
Machinery mechanic assembler (34 slots, night shift, duration of 5 months)

Ipojuca Campus:

Instrumentation helper (30 slots, morning shift, duration of 4 months)
Boilermaker (60 slots divided into two classes, morning and afternoon, duration of 10 months)
Industrial painter (15 slots, morning shift, duration of 5 months)
Electrical inspector (26 slots, morning shift, duration of 10 months)

Financial Assistance During the Course

To further assist students, the program offers monthly scholarships worth R$ 660, with a higher amount of R$ 858 for women with children up to 11 years old.

This financial support is crucial to ensure that participants can dedicate themselves to their studies without immediate worries about sustenance, especially for those who are unemployed.

When Do Classes Start?

After the enrollment period ends, classes are expected to start on November 11. The courses have different durations, ranging from 4 to 10 months, depending on the chosen area.
