The Federal Institute of Espírito Santo (Ifes), in partnership with the Open University of Brazil (UAB), is accepting applications for the selection process of the degree in Portuguese Language, in the distance learning modality (EaD). This announcement offers a valuable opportunity for those looking to qualify in the field of Language and work in both public and private education, as well as in other sectors such as journalism and publishing companies. Applications are open until September 30, 2024, and the course will start in the first semester of 2025.

Course Objective and Workload

The main objective of the course is to prepare future professionals for teaching Portuguese Language, covering everything from elementary education to technical secondary education. The program is 100% EaD, with in-person meetings at support centers, and the total workload includes activities such as classes, seminars, forums, and assessments. This course is ideal for those seeking flexibility, offering a combination of online study and in-person support at local centers.

The selection process offers 320 spots, distributed across various cities in Espírito Santo, such as Afonso Cláudio, Aracruz, Bom Jesus do Norte, and other locations. Selection Processes

The selection process includes reserving 50% of the spots for candidates from affirmative actions, in accordance with the current laws. Additionally, 10% of the spots are reserved for teachers from basic education without a degree in Portuguese Language. The selection will be carried out through the analysis of the Enem scores (2021, 2022, or 2023). Candidates from affirmative actions opting for spots reserved for Black, mixed-race, and Indigenous individuals must undergo a self-declaration verification procedure.

Registration Requirements

To apply, candidates must have completed high school and participated in one of the Enem editions between 2021 and 2023. Those competing for spots for basic education teachers must provide documentation that proves their teaching experience. Additionally, internet access and a computer are essential, as the course is predominantly distance learning.

Online (EAD) Course Offered

The only course offered in this announcement is the Licenciatura in Portuguese Language, a program aimed at meeting the demand for qualified professionals in the education field in Espírito Santo.
