Learn How Each Category of Raízen’s Program Will Happen
V-Power Category
This category will feature the companies Waldemiro P Lustoza & Cia Ltd (WPL) and the Amazon Navigation Company (CNA), both operating in Manaus, Amazonas state. The competition will be divided into three phases. In the first, eliminatory phase, each river transport company must select its two best captains according to the following criteria: no accidents in the last year; 90% of simulation schedules completed; and no cuts in security camera footage. After selection, each captain can choose the tugboat and crew, also adhering to safety criteria. There are 4 competition spots available for the second phase, two for each competing company.
The second phase will include practical tests of Grounding and Emergency Simulation (SOPEP) at the river transport companies’ terminals, as well as a theoretical test regarding Safety, Health, and Environmental Regulations (SSMA). At the end of this phase, the best team from each company will reach the third phase, where they must conduct docking and fire-fighting tests in the engine room, in Porto Velho (RO).
At the end of the process, the group with the best score will win a family trip to a resort, the Gold Steering Wheel trophy, and other prizes. The second place will receive the Silver Steering Wheel award, prizes, and R$ 1,000 in award vouchers. The two last positions will also receive prizes.
Racing Category
To reinforce Raízen’s safety initiatives with transport companies, this category will include Transdourada, from Belém (PA), and Navemestra, operating in Guanabara Bay (RJ). Here, there will be two phases: initially, each company will choose two teams based on eligibility criteria. Then, each participant will answer a questionnaire about legislation and SSMA knowledge. At the end of the competition, they will receive medals and prizes such as wallets, portable speakers, backpacks, and a Portable DVD player, which will be raffled.
