Renault Is Preparing to Update Its Model Line in Brazil. In This Sense, It Is Noted That the Highlight Is Two New SUVs.
According to information, one of these vehicles will be based on the Dacia Bigster, which is a medium SUV that promises to compete with the Jeep Compass, offering even more interior space.
The new medium SUV from Renault was introduced as a concept in 2021, and its debut in Europe is scheduled for late 2024. Recently, the model was spotted testing on European roads, indicating that the launch is approaching.
Design Inspired by the Renault Duster
According to information, the Renault Bigster will share design elements with the 2024 Duster, which is sold in Europe.

Hyundai sells an executive minivan that looks like a VIP room on wheels: Custin carries 7 people, uses a 1.5 turbo engine with 168 hp, 8-speed automatic transmission, and costs around R$ 157,000 in direct conversion in Vietnam.
-
The 7-seater Toyota that seems too cheap to exist in Brazil: Rush has a 1.5 engine, manual or automatic option, and a converted price close to R$ 81,000, while here families need to aim for much more expensive SUVs.

The 2012 Mitsubishi Pajero Dakar diesel shows 314,000 km and still draws attention for its reputation for durability; the seven-seater 4×4 SUV handles trails, but signs of severe use may conceal losses for used car buyers.

Peugeot publicly acknowledged the errors of the PureTech engine, which caused serious failures in hundreds of thousands of cars, and introduced the new Turbo 100 as a definitive solution, a 1.2 turbo tested for over 3 million kilometers that replaces the faulty belt with a more durable chain.
The projections for the vehicle also reveal similarities in the design of the headlights and grille, as well as the square openings of the fenders. The robust rear and C-pillar also resemble the Duster.
However, despite sharing several characteristics, the Bigster has a distinguishing feature: it is larger. Overall, it measures approximately 4.60 meters in length, compared to the 4.34 meters of the Duster.
This difference provides more interior space and the possibility of accommodating up to seven passengers, placing the Bigster in the C segment. The trunk will have a capacity of 500 liters, surpassing the 472 liters of the Duster.
Engine and Versions
The Renault Bigster will be built on the CMF-B platform of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. In Europe, the engine options are expected to include a 1.0 GLP ECO-G engine with 100 hp, a 1.2 mild-hybrid engine with 131 hp, and a conventional 1.6 hybrid engine with 140 hp with automatic transmission.
For the Brazilian market, the expectation is that the Bigster will come equipped with a 1.3 turbo engine with 170 hp. Prices in Europe are expected to range between 20,000 euros (approximately R$ 115,000) and 30,000 euros (around R$ 172,500), positioning the Bigster in a higher range than the Duster.
Renault’s Strategy for Brazil
Renault has confirmed that it will have an SUV based on the Bigster as part of its strategy to offer more refined models, rather than focusing on volume with basic vehicles.
There is still no set date for the launch in Brazil, but the automaker is already acquiring parts for the new model, suggesting that the launch may occur next year. Additionally, Renault is developing a coupe-SUV to complement its lineup of utility vehicles.
With these news, Renault aims to strengthen its presence in the Brazilian market by offering vehicles with more space and technology, aligned with consumer trends and demands.
