The use of technology in the planning phase of construction is reducing project timelines by up to 21%. This is the case of the engineering office Joal Teitelbaum, for example, which managed to reduce its project schedule by 18% — equivalent to a total of six and a half months less within the initially stipulated 36 months for the project.

To this end, the specialized planning software Prevision uses the ‘Lean’ methodology (known as ‘lean construction’ in Portuguese), a planning technique that assists contractors and developers in defining necessary resources, deadlines, schedules, and project costs.

‘This allows us to better understand how activities will unfold over the scheduled time,’ explains Paula Lunardelli, executive director and founder of Prevision.
