Samsung kicks off the 10th edition of “Solve For Tomorrow Brasil”

Samsung announced the opening of registrations for the 10th edition of “Solve For Tomorrow Brasil”. This global corporate citizenship program seeks to encourage high school students and teachers from public schools throughout Brazil to develop innovative solutions using the STEM approach (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

With this, Samsung contributes to the progress of education in the country and encourages the creation of projects capable of improving the health, education, sustainability and well-being of the affected communities.

Participation and Registration

To participate, those interested must register by July 12 on the website https://solvefortomorrowbrasil.com.br/.

Teams must be formed by 3 to 5 high school students, with students from different classes being allowed to participate as long as they are in the same year.

Each group must create a project with the guidance of a teacher linked to the areas of Natural Sciences and/or Mathematics, in addition to having a Partner Professor from areas related or not to Sciences of Nature or Mathematics.

The Tenth Edition and the Participants' Journey

According to Anna Karina Pinto, Director of Corporate Marketing at Samsung Brasil, the 10th edition of “Solve for Tomorrow Brasil” is a source of pride and responsibility for the company. Each year, creative prototypes with market potential that benefit society as a whole are presented.

Beatriz Cortese, Executive Director of Cenpec, the organization responsible for the general coordination of the program in Brazil, emphasizes that the projects are aligned with the principles of scientific research and sustainability. To assist in the development of ideas, the program offers training and mentoring activities, aimed at promoting equity and quality in Brazilian public education.

Impact and Partnerships

Since its arrival in Brazil in 2014, “Solve For Tomorrow” has already involved more than 168.559 students, 36.420 teachers and 6.049 public schools. In the 9th edition, there was a 65% increase in the number of students enrolled compared to the previous year.

The Brazilian edition has partners such as UNESCO in Brazil, Todos pela Educação, Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI), support from the National Council of Secretaries of Education (Consed) and the general coordination of Cenpec.

Schedule of the 10th Edition

The 10th edition of “Solve For Tomorrow Brasil” follows the schedule below:

  • April 25 to July 12: Project idea submission and mentoring for registrants
  • August 11: Result of the 20 semi-finalist teams
  • August 15 to September 29: Mentorship for the 20 semi-finalist teams
  • October 09: Result of the 10 finalist teams
  • October 10 to November 22: Mentorship for the 10 finalist teams
  • November 16 to November 26: Voting by the Popular Jury
  • November 27: Presentation to the Judging Board
  • November 28: Result of the winners of the 10th edition
