According to the company, its local technical team followed all safety standards before and after boarding to perform the emergency response and ensure compliance with the installation deadline set by the client with the operating company in the Campos Basin.

The company emphasizes that for the rescue of the submarine pipeline in the Campos Basin, it utilized the renowned Oil States internal lifting tool for submarine pipelines (ILT), which features a customizable range of nominal pipe diameters and is operated hydraulically, both from the ship’s deck and via ROV.
The Oil States Internal Lifting Tool for Submarine Pipelines (ILT) is part of Oil States’ portfolio of service tools suitable for submarine pipeline installation campaigns, as well as emergency pipeline rescue services, and also in platform decommissioning services.
“These services are executed locally with logistical and technical support, excellence, and quality from the specialized field teams of OIL”, stated the company in a statement
Petrobras Begins Decommissioning of Platform P-12 in the Campos Basin
Petrobras has already received approval from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuels (ANP) and the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA) and the Navy.
According to Petrobras, the decommissioning of platforms P-07 and P-15 in the Campos Basin, and the FPSO Piranema in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin is also scheduled for this year 2020.
According to Petrobras’s Strategic Plan for 2020-2024, 18 production platforms will be decommissioned by 2024.
