Each credit represents one ton of carbon dioxide that is not emitted.
Next, Ipiranga has the second-largest target, at 4.75 million credits, or 19.1% of the total. Closely following is Raízen Combustíveis, a joint venture of Shell and Cosan, which will aim to purchase 4.38 million CBios, equivalent to 17.6% of the total planned.

About CBios
CBios are part of the RenovaBio program, which aims to remove millions of tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and boost the biofuels sector, contributing to targets established in 2015 by the Paris Agreement.
The credits are issued by producers of ethanol and biodiesel, and the targets projected over a ten-year horizon gradually increase year by year until reaching 90.67 million credits by 2030, according to government data.
