Initiative Seeks to Boost Qualification in Tourism
According to the Ministry of Tourism, this action is part of the Senac Free Program (PSG), which aims to democratize access to professional education and prepare the population to engage in tourism activities with more quality and competitiveness.
The initiative also aims to strengthen national tourism through the qualification of the workforce and the appreciation of local talents.
The courses will be offered in the following states: Acre, Amazonas, Ceará, Federal District, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Pernambuco, Piauí, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, Rondônia, Roraima, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, São Paulo, and Tocantins.
Free Courses Cover Various Areas of the Tourism Sector
The list of courses includes areas such as customer service, reception in hospitality, event organization, gastronomy, tourism information agents, and other segments with high demand in the job market.
Each course has a specific workload and its own educational and age requirements, which vary according to the chosen qualification.
To participate, the candidate must have a family income per capita of up to two minimum wages
and must not have dropped out or given up on another PSG course in the past year.
Correctly filling out the form is essential, as inconsistent or incomplete information may result in disqualification.
Selection and Calling Process
Each candidate may only enroll in a single course, and simultaneous participation in different training programs is prohibited.
Those who register after all vacancies are filled will automatically be placed on a waiting list.
The calling of selected candidates will be done through the contact channels provided during registration — such as email and phone.
In the state of São Paulo, however, there will be an exception: the announcement will be made exclusively through a public list of approved candidates, as stated by Senac-SP.
Courses Aim for Inclusion and Employability
This policy of free access to courses is part of a broader strategy for social inclusion and regional economic development.
The tourism sector was one of the most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and professional qualification is considered essential for the recovery and expansion of the segment.
According to updated data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), tourism already accounts for approximately 8% of the national GDP, encompassing more than 7 million direct and indirect jobs.
Technical qualification is identified by experts as one of the main differentiation factors in the current market, especially in service and customer service-related areas.
Online Registration and Facilitated Access
Registrations must be made exclusively online, through the official Senac website or the specific platform for the Senac Free Program.
The recommendation is that interested parties do not leave it until the last minute because high demand may cause system instability or prevent timely completion of the process.
To check the complete list of available courses, the cities where they will be offered, and all details about each training, it is necessary to access the official links of Senac, where the registration form is also available.
Expectations for New Announcements Throughout the Year
Experts point out that new editions of the program are expected to be launched still in 2025, in other areas beyond tourism, such as technology, commerce, and beauty services.
The recommendation is that interested parties follow publications in Senac’s official channels and stay alert to the dates and requirements of new selection processes.
Additionally, other institutions from the S System, such as Senai and Sebrae, have also expanded their offerings of free courses, focusing on innovation, entrepreneurship, and regional development.
These opportunities are valuable, especially for young people seeking their first job or workers undergoing requalification.
The democratization of technical education has been one of the most effective strategies to combat unemployment and reduce regional inequalities.
By providing free and quality training, programs like PSG contribute not only to the individual growth of participants but also to the strengthening of strategic sectors of the economy. Click to Register!
