“Our goal is to introduce women to the world of technology and programming, as a way to encourage their entry into this job market,” says Priscilla Mariano, academic director of the school.
About the Free Technology Courses
The free courses do not set any prerequisites. Even women who have never had contact with computational languages will be able to create their first projects during the course period. Classes start on March 29 and 30.
With a duration of 48 hours each, the courses — Introduction to Data Analysis and Introduction to Web Programming — will be streamed online and 100% live, held two days a week, in the evening, with three hours per class.
The courses were designed exclusively for a female audience. The Introduction to Data Analysis course, for example, will help students understand fundamental programming concepts and how to take the first steps in building an algorithm. Basic concepts of the Python language and its application in practical activities will be presented.
Students will also learn about the main techniques and tools used for data structuring and how to apply them in real activities. With the course, participants will have the opportunity to create a portfolio that can be the key to their insertion in the job market in various professions such as back-end developer and data scientist, for example.
In the Introduction to Web Programming course, students will develop the main skills and techniques required by the market in this area. Focusing on front-end development, its goal is to enable participants to use techniques and tools to develop modern and interactive websites. Students will learn concepts of HTTP, HTML5, and CSS3, as well as JavaScript. The focus is on hands-on experience, promoting practical learning.
Application
Those interested in competing for one of the spots must register directly on the company’s website at this link. Applications will be accepted until the 20th, and results will be announced on March 23.
