About the Company
Smart Fit is the 5th largest sports gym network in the world and the largest in Latin America, with over 800 units in Brazil and another 10 countries in the region, as well as having more than 1.5 million enrolled clients. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in São Paulo, it is the low-cost network of the Bio Ritmo Group, which owns the homonymous Bio Ritmo gym network.
The discovered opportunity of the gym network led to the opening of a new low-cost gym network the following year. The first Smart Fit units were opened in the cities of São Paulo, Porto Alegre, Brasília, and Rio de Janeiro.
The initial concept created for the network is based on affordable monthly fees, areas larger than 2000 m², and a reduced number of instructors and staff. By the end of 2018, the network had 378 units and an app that automatically generates workouts based on each student’s activity rhythm.
