Sollar Machine Invests US$ 9 Million in an Autonomous Solar Data Center in Paraguay, Focused on Exporting AI Solutions. Project Reinforces the Expansion of Sustainable Infrastructure in Latin America.
The international competition for sustainable digital infrastructure has gained a new chapter with the announcement from Sollar Machine. The Brazilian company has decided to build a solar data center in Paraguay, with a 9 million dollar investment that promises to strengthen the Latin American artificial intelligence market. The project is clearly focused on exporting technology to various countries, starting with Brazil, and highlights a growing trend in the sector: autonomous operations powered exclusively by clean energy.
Solar Data Center Marks Strategic Advancement in Technology and Sustainability
The project stands out for operating entirely on solar energy, with no dependence on the Paraguayan power grid. Thus, the future solar data center reflects the practices adopted by the largest global players, who are racing to reduce the carbon footprint of their high-energy-consuming operations.
To enable the structure, Sollar Machine will import photovoltaic panels and batteries, setting up an autonomous facility in the country capable of processing large volumes of data for international clients. Additionally, the local factory will deliver a finished product in Paraguay, expanding the potential for exporting AI services without relying on traditional electrical infrastructure.

The era of solar panels attached to roofs is beginning to change with transparent glass that generates energy while keeping the view unobstructed, and perovskite photovoltaic windows already tested in offices in Japan promise to transform entire facades into invisible power plants without blocking light or altering the appearance of buildings.

The era of silicon alone in solar energy comes to an end with the arrival of perovskite, a material that captures a broader light spectrum, is applied as a thin film, and, together with silicon, reaches a theoretical limit of 45% efficiency in tandem modules.

While Europe and the United States rush to save their own solar chains, China already dominates more than 80% of the global manufacturing of solar panels and has turned the sun into an industrial machine controlled by Beijing that is redefining the global energy transition.
Why Paraguay Was Chosen to Host the Solar Data Center
The company highlights that Paraguay offers an economically favorable environment, with tax advantages, institutional stability, and a strategic location in South America. These elements, combined with government incentives for clean energy projects, make the country a competitive destination for technological operations.
According to Sollar Machine, the alignment between public policies and innovation creates ideal conditions to consolidate a sustainable digital ecosystem. Thus, Paraguay is positioning itself as a regional hub capable of attracting high-impact investments in green infrastructure.
Institutional Support and Pathways for the Installation of the Data Center
The initiative has the support of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, as well as technical support from Rediex and the Unified System for Business Opening and Closing (Suace). The coordination between these agencies accelerates the formal processes and facilitates the installation of a project considered strategic for the digitization of the Paraguayan economy.
As the implementation stages progress, the country reinforces its ambition to diversify the economy and enhance its presence on the international map of clean technology export. In this way, the new solar data center promises to impact not only the AI sector but the entire regional innovation ecosystem.
