The Seismic Research Companies Spectrum and TGS Announced a Collaboration in Expanding the 3D Multi-Client Survey of the Santos Basin off the Brazilian Coast.
Spectrum reported on Tuesday that the company joined forces with TGS and expanded the Santos 3D program to 15,000 square kilometers concerning the southern prospective of the Santos Basin. According to the company, TGS and Spectrum will be equal partners with data processing and imaging to be carried out by TGS. The survey covers an area south of the high-profile discoveries in the Santos Basin and the recent most sought-after blocks offered in rounds 2, 3, 4, 5, and 15.
Rune Eng, CEO of Spectrum, said: “Spectrum is excited to cooperate with TGS in this survey over a highly prospective area. The two companies will work together to unlock the Southern Santos Basin for exploration. The Santos Basin is one of the hottest exploration basins in the world, with high potential for new discoveries in deep waters.”
Kristian Johansen, CEO of TGS, added: “TGS is extremely pleased with this collaboration with Spectrum. This will be our second major investment in Brazil this year, expanding TGS’s commitment to this important exploration play.”

Viih Tube, former BBB contestant and millionaire, lives in a mansion worth R$ 8.5 million with a heated artificial lake, two cinemas, a complete spa, and a giant playroom of 120 m² for the couple’s children.
Spectrum began the initial 10,000 square kilometer 3D multi-client seismic project in July this year. At that time, the project did not include the blocks offered in Round 5.
According to information from July, accelerated pace data would be available for a round anticipated in the second half of 2019.
Before this research project began, Spectrum had already acquired 200,000 kilometers of high-quality long-range 2D data, covering nearly the entire Brazilian coastline. Check out the latest acquisitions by the companies in our territory here.
