Connectivity in the countryside has been a historical challenge for the Brazilian agriculture.

In a sector that moves billions and represents a significant portion of the national GDP, the lack of quality internet is still a barrier for small and medium producers.

However, a company led by one of the biggest names in global technology is willing to change this scenario with an ambitious plan and more affordable prices.

Starlink, Elon Musk’s satellite internet company, has established itself as the largest operator in the segment in Brazil.

According to industry data, the company closed 2024 with 57% of national accesses, surpassing competitors like Hughes, which holds 31.1% market share.

Since its arrival in the country in January 2022, Starlink has experienced accelerated growth.

In just two years, it jumped from 3.6% of accesses to 42% in May 2024, solidifying its position as the industry leader.

This advancement was partly driven by the connection of schools in remote areas of the Amazon, a project funded with part of the R$ 3 billion raised from the 5G auction.

To expand its presence in agriculture even further, the company launched an aggressive promotion, offering 60% off on the equipment needed for satellite internet installation.

This way, small and medium producers can access high-speed connectivity at a reduced cost.

Benefits Of Satellite Internet For Brazilian Agriculture

Agriculture is one of the main drivers of the Brazilian economy, but the lack of digital infrastructure still limits productivity in various regions.

The arrival of Starlink in the sector promises to reverse this scenario by enabling producers to utilize advanced technological solutions to optimize their activities.

Among the main benefits are:

  • Remote Monitoring and Precision Sensors

Enables real-time control of water, fertilizers, and other inputs;

  • Efficient Management of Agricultural Operations

Facilitates communication between different points of the property and improves internal logistics;

  • Instant Consultation of Weather Forecasts and Market Trends

Assists in making strategic decisions;

  • Use of Cutting-edge Technology for Irrigation and Soil Management

Increases productivity and reduces waste;

  • Improvement in Supply Chain Tracking

Increases safety and reliability in logistical operations.

With high-speed internet, small and medium properties can compete on equal footing with large farms, raising standards of efficiency and profitability in the field.

Direct Internet for Cell Phones and Ease of Installation

Another differentiator of Starlink is its new technology “direct to cell”, which allows the direct connection of regular cell phones to satellite internet, without the need for towers or other ground infrastructures.

This solution was developed in partnership with operators like T-Mobile and promises to significantly expand global coverage.

The installation of the Starlink system is also simple and can be done without the need for specialized technicians. The producer just needs to:

  1. Position the antenna in an open area;
  2. Connect the cables to the router;
  3. Configure the service through the Starlink app.

In just a few minutes, the rural property is already connected, allowing unrestricted access to digital tools that enhance agricultural production.

The Future of Connectivity in The Field

With a bold and accessible proposal, Starlink is revolutionizing rural connectivity in Brazil.

Its impact goes far beyond just offering internet, bringing technological advancements that allow for greater efficiency, safety, and competitiveness in national agriculture.

The equipment discount promotion is for a limited time and represents an opportunity for producers to modernize their properties and integrate innovative solutions into their daily operations in the field.
