The agreement between Supermercados BH and DMA Distribuidora foresees the integration of operations in Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, Bahia, and Pernambuco, but the conclusion still depends on Cade’s approval and the fulfillment of the conditions stipulated in the negotiation.

Supermercados BH announced this Wednesday (30) that it has closed a commercial agreement with DMA Distribuidora, owner of the EPA and Mineirão chains. The operation was signed on April 28 and foresees the integration of units in Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, Bahia, and Pernambuco.

Supermercados BH aims for expansion in four states

With the conclusion of the transaction, Supermercados BH will be able to significantly expand its market presence. The company will now have approximately 600 stores, in addition to distribution centers and gas stations.

Operation still depends on Cade

The agreement still needs to be approved by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade). The finalization also depends on the fulfillment of the preceding conditions established in the deal.

Gains in scale and logistics

The operation is expected to boost economies of scale, increase operational efficiency, and strengthen customer service capacity. Supermercados BH also focuses on improving the shopping experience and optimizing logistics.

So far, the number of incorporated units has not been disclosed. The company also did not present other details about the terms of the agreement with DMA Distribuidora.
