New Geely Galaxy Hybrid SUV Combines Performance, Efficiency, and Advanced Technology, Offering Record Range, High Power, and Ultra-Fast Charging in Just 15 Minutes
The Geely Galaxy, a sub-brand of Geely Auto, officially launched the M9. The model arrives to compete in the crowded Chinese hybrid SUV market with competitive pricing and attention-grabbing specifications.
Model Details and Performance
The Galaxy M9 is a large plug-in hybrid SUV, measuring approximately 5 meters in length and available in six different versions. The brand offers driving assistance options, ranging from the standard version to the advanced G-Pilot H5 system. The top-of-the-line model features an impressive maximum range of 1,500 km.
The NordThor (Leishen) AI Hybrid 2.0 powertrain equips the vehicle.

The new Audi Q5 2026 arrives with quattro all-wheel drive, a 2.0 turbo engine with 272 hp, and 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, betting on luxury and technology with a screen for the passenger, but charges up to R$ 485,000 for it.
This combination includes a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and up to three electric motors — one front and two rear. The lithium iron phosphate battery provided by CATL ensures performance coupled with efficiency.
The combustion engine delivers up to 219 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque, reinforcing the balance between power and economy.
Battery and Motor Configurations
The SUV is designed to offer versatility, with different battery packs and motor configurations.
In the basic configuration, the M9 features a frontic motor with 180 kW (241 hp) and 258 lb-ft of torque. The 18.4 kWh battery ensures 62 miles of electric range and approximately 823 miles in total, according to CLTC tests.
The intermediate package of 41.46 kWh expands the electric range to about 230 km and brings the total to 1,500 km. The most complete version adds two rear motors of 170 kW (228 hp) and 207 lb-ft each, combined with the larger battery. This configuration provides 210 km of electric range and around 1,299 km of total range.
Fast Charging in 15 Minutes
Another highlight of the M9 is charging efficiency. The system supports ultra-fast charging at a rate of 3C, allowing it to go from 30% to 80% of capacity in just 15 minutes. This agility reduces waiting time and offers convenience for both long trips and urban commutes.
The promise is simple: less time stopped and more time on the road, making the most of the SUV’s electric potential.
G-Pilot H5 Assistance Technology
Geely equipped the model with the G-Pilot H5 system, aimed at safety and automation. The suite includes 27 sensors: one lidar sensor, three millimeter-wave radars, 11 high-definition cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars.
Processing is handled by an Nvidia Orin-Y chip, which allows advanced features such as high-speed navigation in autonomous driving (NOA) and urban driving without relying on high-definition maps. The technology also assists in parking with greater precision.
A Hybrid SUV for Multiple Scenarios
The Galaxy M9 arrives as a versatile option, combining long-distance range with urban practicality. Drivers can expect comfort on long trips, reliable maneuvers in heavy traffic, and convenience for daily use.
Combining efficiency, performance, and technology, Geely’s new SUV demonstrates how plug-in hybrids are rapidly evolving and gaining increasing traction in the Chinese market.
