The Skandi Vitoria PLSV is owned by a 50-50 joint venture between DOF Subsea and TechnipFMC. It is of the STX OSCV 06 type and the first pipeline vessel built in Brazil in 2010.

DOF Subsea announced on Thursday that the contract with TechnipFMC starts in January with a duration of two years plus options.

The vessel has been in lay-up since the summer of 2018, and DOF CEO Mons Aase stated that he was pleased with the awarding of the contract and that the vessel was back in operations.

The ship is equipped with vertical and horizontal pipe installation systems, a 250 mt crane, and two ROVs. It is capable of operating in water depths of up to 3,000 meters and is suitable for pipe laying, underwater construction, and installation and maintenance work.

To remember, the last time a contract for the Skandi Vitoria was reported was in January 2017. The Brazilian oil company Petrobras had awarded the Skandi Vitoria a contract of 532 days.
