China Announced That 6G Technology Is Expected to Be Commercialized Worldwide by 2030
For the first time in a high-tech laboratory, a team in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu province in eastern China, succeeded in achieving a speed rate of 206.25 gigabits per second (Gbps) during a 6G speed test. The information was disclosed on the institute’s website.

The achievement of developing the pioneering experimental 6G transmission communication system, in real-time, at a speed of 360-430GHz terahertz or 100/200 Gbps was made possible thanks to the support of the Chinese government, the telecommunications company China Mobile, and Fudan University. The system is considered the fastest on the planet to date.
Potential Uses for 6G
The new 6G technology from China could be used for high-speed wireless communication between sets of satellites, between the atmosphere and the planet, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

The bridge connecting Brazil and Paraguay has a colossal structure, 1,294 meters over the Paraguay River, and 90% of the works completed, but customs bottlenecks, lack of resources, and obstacles between 4 countries still threaten the operation of the 2,400 km Bioceanic Route.

Moreover, 6G could provide a boost in peak speed over the existing 5G system, potentially even serving the metaverse. For this to happen, China’s technology may be integrated with fiber optic networks to expand wireless access to 100-1000 Gbps outdoors and indoors.
Terahertz waves have higher frequencies compared to millimeter waves (mm). The current 5G network uses frequency ranges between 24 GHz and 100 GHz, which is significantly different from the frequency of 6G networks.
Faster Transmission
Additionally, terahertz waves have the capacity for data transmission at a higher speed. However, they have a limited signal propagation distance, which poses a challenge for large-scale application, according to Xiang Ligang, general director of the telecommunications industry association Information Consumption Alliance.
The expectation is that China’s 6G wireless communication technology will succeed the 5G technology, which is still being implemented in various countries. Furthermore, 6G makes it possible for data to be transmitted at speeds that are at least 20 times faster than existing standards.
