Contract Provides for the Supply of Pipes Made with CRA Materials and Finished with Premium TenarisHydril Blue Connections and Dopeless Technology
Tenaris and Petrobras signed a contract for the supply of corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) pipes for offshore operations in Brazil. The contract will last for three years, strengthening the long-term relationship between the two companies. The pipes will be used in pre-salt wells and manufactured in Sweden in partnership with Alleima. Thanks to Dopeless® technology, the connections are provided RunReady™, eliminating the need for grease application for descent or storage, thus facilitating handling and descent operations.
Rig Direct Services Provided by Tenaris
Tenaris will provide Petrobras with Rig Direct® services, featuring fully integrated supply chains, from production at the plant to delivery at the port, ready to be executed on the offshore platform, contributing to simpler and more sustainable operations. The contract and service package will be fully managed by the Tenaris team in Brazil.
As part of the Rig Direct® package, Petrobras will have access to PipeTracer® technology, a digital solution that allows users to access technical specifications of products, execution manuals, and automated digital count creation, eliminating manual measurements, enhancing accuracy, and simplifying operations. To ensure well integrity, experienced field service specialists from Tenaris will support Petrobras on the platform.

Tenaris and Alleima Celebrate the Success of the Partnership with Petrobras
Alleima (formerly Sandvik Materials Technology) is a developer of advanced stainless steels, such as special alloys, titanium, and other high-performance materials. The strategic partnership between Tenaris and Alleima began in 2003 to add value to the oil and gas industry through research, product development, and the manufacturing of special tubular solutions.
Renato Catallini, president of Tenaris in Brazil, states that “this contract confirms our ability to provide a wide range of tubular solutions for our customers operating in very complex environments. Through strategic alliances like this with Alleima, along with our Rig Direct® service model and the unmatched capabilities of our global supply network, Tenaris has become the most comprehensive supplier of solutions for complex offshore operations not only in Brazil but worldwide.”
“We are very pleased with the signing of this contract and the guarantee of a long-term supply agreement with Petrobras, through our partnership with Tenaris. Our OCTG pipes are perfect for this project, due to their high mechanical strength and excellent [MT1] corrosion resistance,” said Nigel Haworth, president of the Energy Business Unit at Alleima.
