In The Implementation Phase Of The Terminal, About 15,360 New Jobs Are Expected, Including 5,360 Direct And 10,000 Indirect Jobs, As Well As Nearly 3,000 In The Operation Phase.

Good news for Macaé, many job opportunities are coming with the delivery of the preliminary license issued by the State Environmental Institute (Inea) to the Macaé Port Terminal (Tepor). The license was delivered by the governor of the state of Rio, Wilson Witzel, on this Monday, November 11. Follow the process by clicking here.

After six years, the enterprise finally received authorization. The project was conceived in 2013, with the purpose of providing an integrated solution to the production flow chain and pre-treatment of oil and gas.

In the implementation phase of the Terminal, about 15,360 new jobs are expected, including 5,360 direct jobs and 10,000 indirect jobs. In the operation phase, there will be 900 direct jobs and about 2,000 indirect jobs.

Witzel states, “This is one of many actions we have taken to resume the economic growth of the state. This license should have been issued earlier; there was a legal tangle, a series of problems that should not have been happening, but the State Government received the issue in April and in November had already resolved the matter. Our approach is a demonstration to investors of a healthy legal environment.”

Some conditions were set by the State Environmental Institute for granting the license to Tepor, one of which is the allocation of an area for conservation of approximately one thousand hectares.

The Inea also required social communication and interaction programs, professional training, and support for artisanal fishing, among other measures, which were also established as requirements.

“The State Of Rio de Janeiro Undertakes A Responsible And Competitive Economic Recovery, Attentive To The Needs Of Future Generations,” Said Ana Lúcia Santoro, State Secretary For The Environment And Sustainability.

According To Lucas Tristão, Secretary Of Economic Development, Energy, And International Relations, The Delivery Of The Preliminary License To Tepor Is The Physical Representation Of The New Policy Advocated By The Governor Starting This Year.

“This Was An Tireless Effort By A Team Committed To Generating Jobs And Income, Unblocking The State From Bureaucratic Constraints, And Establishing A More Favorable Negotiation Environment AndAn Attractive Regulatory Environment For Investors In An Economy That Lost About 500,000 Jobs In Recent Years,” He Stated.
