The Highly Anticipated Official Debut of Elon Musk’s Controversial Electric Pickup Finally Arrived, Generating Great Expectation. Now, the World Will Be Able to See the Much-Awaited Launch of the Vehicle.
The different models of the Cybertruck feature significant differences in terms of delivery, price, range, performance, and power. The RWD model is scheduled to be delivered starting in 2025, with a price of US$ 60,990 and an estimated range of 400 km. On the other hand, the AWD model is expected to be delivered starting in 2024, with a price of US$ 69,990, an estimated range of 550 km, a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.1 seconds, and a maximum power of 600 hp. The Cyberbeast model, also with deliveries starting in 2024, has a price of US$ 99,990, an estimated range of 515 km, a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 2.6 seconds, and a maximum power of 845 hp. It is worth noting that, in terms of maximum speed, the AWD model reaches 180 km/h, while the Cyberbeast reaches 210 km/h. The differences between the models should be considered before making the final choice, taking into account the consumer’s needs and preferences.
To acquire the all-wheel-drive model with 2 motors called Cybertruck, expected to be launched in 2024, it is necessary to shell out approximately 79,990 dollars (R$ 390,000). For the Cyberbeast, which has three motors similar to the Tesla Model S and Model X Plaid, the price is 99,990 dollars (R$ 487,000).
However, it is important to highlight that there is a note on the site that may raise concerns. According to the message, by paying US$ 250 now, the customer will be contacted when their Cybertruck is ready to be configured. This may indicate that, even upon receiving the vehicle, some important piece may still be missing to complete it.

Tesla Cybertruck Debuts in New York City
Indeed, during the event’s credit display on Tesla’s X channel, the official Cybertruck website became available online. For now, it is accessible only in the United States. Upon checking the site, it is possible to see that the single-motor Cybertruck model, called Rear-Wheel Drive, has an initial price of 60,990 dollars (R$ 298,000). This amount is an estimate, just like for the other models, and the release date is scheduled only for 2025.
After highlighting some features, Elon Musk begins to distribute the first units to their rightful owners, who exit the Gigafactory Texas amidst a crowd. ‘In the end, this is a delivery event‘, Musk said, slyly adding: ‘Starting tomorrow, you’ll have fun seeing these cars on the road’.
Surprisingly, that’s how he says goodbye, very quickly considering the wait. However, in less than half an hour, it’s already time to say goodbye: thank you all. With a bit of disappointment from those who expected something more in terms of technology, prices, delivery dates, price lists, options, and so on.
In the end, this is a delivery event.
The three-motor Cybertruck (sorry, the Cyberbeast, as the most powerful version on the list is called) is also extremely fast: it goes from 0 to 100 km in 2.6 seconds and covers a quarter of a mile in less than 11 seconds. There is a video showing it surpassing a Porsche 911 in acceleration while towing another identical Porsche 911 that it is competing against. This is something Tesla has done in the past with the Model X and an Alfa Romeo 4C.
Addressing the central point, regarding the chassis, it can be observed that the Cybertruck features electronic suspension control, four-wheel steering, and ‘by wire’ steering, allowing for variable adjustments of the steering ratio based on speed and steering angle.
Additionally, to support the onboard electronics, the Cybertruck adopts a 24-volt system instead of the standard 12 volts that has been used for decades. Furthermore, due to a reorganization of the electrical system, there is a 70% reduction in the amount of wiring needed, which contributes to greater operational efficiency of the vehicle.
These technological innovations position the Cybertruck as a high-performance and energy-efficient vehicle, incorporating significant advances in automotive engineering and electronics.
Introducing Tesla’s Cybertruck
However, all is well. Here, it is immediately evident that this is not just a simple presentation. The goal is to surprise, and to surprise you need a certain game. Therefore, Elon Musk, as he did four years ago, invites Franz von Holzhausen, the head of the design center, to the stage. Franz von Holzhausen throws a baseball at the windows, which this time remain intact.
But that’s not enough. An outdoor recording is displayed. In it, a man is seen firing a burst of machine gun bullets at the chassis, which sustains impact but withstands the shots. The Cybertruck is, indeed, bulletproof. Musk finally goes beyond the spectacle and reveals a first datum: the Cybertruck has a towing capacity of 5,000 kg. To demonstrate its capability, he shows another footage where a Rivian R1T and a Ford F150 diesel are also present. All are challenged to tow the same heavy trailer, and the Cybertruck outperforms all the other vehicles.
‘I consider this the superior product, and I believe it is a model focused on the future like no other’, he states. He then reads the slogan accompanying the launch: ‘More versatile than a pickup and more agile than a sports car’. And explains the reason: ‘Firstly, it has a torsional rigidity superior to that of a McLaren P1.’ Then, perhaps, someone observes that the McLaren P1 – a masterpiece of technology and sportiness, for goodness’ sake – was launched 10 years ago and has not been available on the market for 8 years.
And what about the prices? In 2019, there were rumors that the initial price would be US$ 39,900. Experts, in recent estimates, have slightly raised their projections and stated that the model with one motor should cost around US$ 50,000, while the models with two or three motors should start at US$ 60,000 and US$ 80,000, respectively.
After a long soundtrack introduction, Elon Musk finally appears on stage. Driving a Cybertruck, of course. He then climbs into the bed (based on the lights keeping him shaded from the waist up: an unplanned one) and starts to speak.
Since the night of November 22, 2019, the Cybertruck has been the target of a series of announcements, delays, rumors, allegations, and assumptions. Elon Musk, according to the book, exposed himself personally to attract attention and fuel expectations. Did he fulfill his promises? In the meantime, watch the live broadcast at the link below.
Going back to 2019, Musk stated that the Cybertruck would be available in three versions, with one, two, or three motors. At the time, specific power figures were not mentioned, but it was said that at least 800 hp would be achieved in the most powerful variants, possibly with the designation ‘Plaid’. It was also mentioned that the vehicle would achieve 0-100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, maintaining a decent range: 400 km for the base version, 500 km for the intermediate one, and 800 km for the long-range variant. **Is it still valid?**
Tesla Cybertruck Finally Presented Live at the Gigafactory in Austin
Here is the Tesla Cybertruck. The live reveal at the Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, marked the end of a 4-year wait for the electric pickup.
At the same location in 2019, Elon Musk first unveiled the prototype of the futuristic electric pickup. The innovative design caught everyone’s attention, being the first time something like this had been seen. Furthermore, the technical features impressed everyone (remember the story of the unbreakable glass that broke live?). Now, finally, it’s the moment of truth.
Now is the moment of truth.
