American Car Manufacturer Pulls Launch Series Version And Launches New Model Y Long Range With Fewer Features And More Affordable Price
Tesla announced an important change in the 2025 Model Y lineup: the Launch Series version has been discontinued and replaced with a new Long Range configuration with all-wheel drive. The new model comes with a reduction of US$ 11,000, equivalent to over R$ 65,000, making the electric SUV more affordable in the United States.
Fewer Features, More Competitive Price
The new Tesla Model Y 2025 Long Range is priced at US$ 50,800 (about R$ 297,800), which represents a significant reduction compared to the previous version. The main difference is the removal of the Full Self-Driving (FSD) autonomous driving package, which is now optional at a cost of US$ 8,000 (approximately R$ 47,000). The acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h has also slightly increased, from 4.1 to 4.6 seconds. Even with these changes, the range remains impressive, varying between 488 km and 526 km, depending on wheel size.
Customization Of The New Tesla Model Y 2025 Requires Additional Costs

Despite the more attractive price, consumers who wish to customize the new Tesla Model Y 2025 will have to spend a bit more. Different colors from the standard black add between US$ 1,000 and US$ 2,000 to the final price. A tow hitch with a capacity of up to 1,587 kg is also available as an option for US$ 1,000. These options help tailor the vehicle to each customer’s taste but can significantly raise the total cost of the car.

Harley-Davidson created an entry-level motorcycle that seems impossible for those who only know the brand’s big bikes: the X440 uses a 440 cc single-cylinder engine, delivers 27 hp, 38 Nm, a declared fuel consumption of 35 km/l, and showcases a small, rational, and much more accessible Harley in India.
Aggressive Strategy By Tesla To Boost Sales
According to information from Motor1 Brasil, this price reduction is part of an aggressive strategy by Tesla to reignite demand for its models after a period of sales slowdown. The brand has used this approach before, with good results in the short term. Although it may not always please existing customers, who see their cars depreciate quickly, the tactic has proven effective in increasing sales volume and keeping the brand prominent in the electric vehicle market.
