The Cost to Get a Driver’s License in Brazil Can Vary Almost R$ 3 Thousand Between States. See the Updated List of the 10 Most Expensive and 10 Cheapest in 2025.
The process to obtain a National Driver’s License (CNH) remains expensive for most Brazilians.
On average, the cost of the AB category license, which allows driving cars and motorcycles, is around R$ 3,200. However, depending on the state, this amount can be much higher or significantly lower.

Rio Grande do Sul ranks first, with an average cost of R$ 4,951.35, closely followed by Mato Grosso do Sul and Bahia.
