The initiative, carried out in partnership with the Federal Institute of Goiás (IFG), is part of the Solano Trindade School of Artistic, Technical, and Cultural Training and Qualification program (Escult).

Designed for both beginners and professionals in the field, the course is entirely online, with a total workload of 60 hours, covering the history of photography, photometry techniques, lens usage, composition, and image post-production.

What is Escult?

The Solano Trindade School (Escult), established in 2024, is part of the Professional Training and Qualification Program of the Ministry of Culture.

Developed by the Secretariat of Creative Economy and Cultural Promotion (SEFIC), Escult operates in accordance with the National Culture Plan, offering free courses, initial and continued education (FIC), and postgraduate programs.

The school bears the name of the renowned poet and activist Solano Trindade, a symbol of Brazilian culture and the fight for democratization of access to art and education.

Through Escult, MinC reaffirms its commitment to inclusion and the training of professionals prepared to meet the demands of the cultural market.

According to the Ministry, the initiative aims to expand technical and creative inclusion in the cultural sector, especially in areas such as audiovisual and photography, fostering the qualification of professionals and workers in culture.

Course Syllabus for Photography

The course covers the following topics:

  • History of Photography: understanding the origins and evolution of this form of art;
  • Photometry Techniques: how to measure light and shadows to capture higher-quality images;
  • Use of Lenses and Objectives: learning to explore different equipment for varied results;
  • Composition: aesthetic and technical principles for impactful images;
  • Post-Production: editing and finishing photographs using professional software.

Why Photography Matters in the Digital World

In the age of social media and digital marketing, photography is not just an art form but also a strategic skill.

The capture of attractive images can determine the success of advertising campaigns, online profiles, and even the documentation of cultural and social movements.

According to Professor Dr. Murilo Gabriel Berardo Bueno, coordinator of the course, “technical qualification in photography is essential to meet the creative and market demands of the audiovisual sector.”

This course provides a solid foundation for those wanting to stand out in this universe, learning to translate stories and feelings through images.

Paulo Gustavo Law and Cultural Inclusion

According to the Ministry of Culture, this initiative also aims to meet the guidelines of the Paulo Gustavo Law, which encourages inclusion and democratization of access to culture.

The photography course reflects this commitment by offering opportunities for cultural workers seeking technical training in a constantly evolving market.

The Paulo Gustavo Law was established to boost cultural and artistic projects, promoting initiatives that ensure inclusion and diversity across various artistic languages.

Courses like this photography one are practical examples of this impact by empowering individuals from all regions of the country.

Benefits of Participating in the Course

The training offered by MinC prepares participants to face challenges and explore new opportunities in the cultural sector. Among the benefits of participating are:

Photography is one of the most dynamic areas of the creative market, offering opportunities in various fields, such as advertising, journalism, events, and artistic productions.

For many, mastering this skill can mean not only an enhanced hobby but also a promising career.

Initiatives like this from MinC make this transformation accessible to everyone.

According to recent studies, professionals with photography knowledge are among the most sought after in the audiovisual sector, which is growing exponentially due to the expansion of digital platforms.
