New Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid Premium 2024 Delivers 122 Horsepower
This generation of the model uses the TNGA platform, Toyota’s modular platform that is under practically all of the brand’s more modern models. In addition to its well-constructed structure, the new Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid Premium 2024 has an independent suspension in the rear, with multi-link, and has been electrified since its launch. It can be said that the Corolla was the one that put more hybrids on the streets from 2019 onwards and demonstrated how the technology works for those who had not yet had experience with it.
Since the Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid Premium 2024 is designed for ethanol use, the Japanese brand chose to leave the hybrid system as it is.
The naturally aspirated 1.8 engine, with Atkinson cycle with variable timing in the intake, maintains 98/101 hp and 14.5 kgfm of torque, the low power is due to the combustion cycle being more focused on efficiency and to work with electric motors. For the two electric motors, 72 hp and 16.6 kgfm, and overall, Toyota only mentions power, with a combined 122 hp.

The battery of the new Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid Premium 2024 is small, with 1.3 kWh and installed under the rear seat, so it doesn’t go very far with this silence and soon activates the 1.8 engine to at least recharge or, in cases of need, to drive the wheels.
With ethanol, it recorded 13.6 km/liter in the city – 1 km/liter better than the Corolla Cross Hybrid – which could even be better in an updated set, with more power in the electric motors, for example, and a larger capacity battery, something that the new hybrids are already seeking. It would use less combustion engine, even if it was still the 1.8. Still, it is not a number to be ignored.
