Toyota Compact SUV Will Be Produced in Sorocaba (SP) with Hybrid Technology and Promises to Dominate the National Market with Efficiency and Safety
The Toyota Yaris Cross is the new asset of the Japanese car manufacturer for the B-SUV segment in Brazil. After leading sales in Spain in 2024, with 12,748 units, and reaching the top in Europe with over 204,000 units sold, the model is ready to win over the Brazilian public.
Toyota has made significant investments in the Sorocaba (SP) plant to start national production of the Yaris Cross in 2025. The model will arrive with a 1.5 Hybrid Flex engine, e-CVT transmission, and a promised urban fuel consumption of up to 30 km/l, one of the best in its category.
Toyota Yaris Cross Combines Power, Economy, and Thermal Efficiency

The Toyota Yaris Cross combines a 1.5 Atkinson cycle combustion engine with an electric motor, delivering 116 hp of power. The hybrid flex system was developed to maximize fuel economy without sacrificing performance.

The trunk is generous for the segment, and the internal layout has been optimized to comfortably accommodate up to five passengers.
State-of-the-Art Safety in the Yaris Cross
The national version of the Toyota Yaris Cross will inherit the key safety features already available in Europe. Among them are Unintentional Acceleration Control and Proactive Steering Assist, integrated into the fifth-generation Toyota Safety Sense system.
This package includes autonomous emergency braking, lane departure alert, and adaptive cruise control, reinforcing Toyota’s reputation for offering safety even in compact models.
