A new announcement with vacancies in the Fire Department of Rio Grande do Sul was released this Monday (24). According to the document, 400 immediate vacancies are being offered, allowing candidates to work at the Fire Department in the position of soldier. Main Requirements to Work at the Fire Department
Those interested in the vacancies, which allow candidates to work at the Fire Department, must be Brazilian nationals, with a maximum age of 25 years during the application period for the competition. For Temporary State Military, the maximum age limit of 25 years applies during the application period for the competition to work at the Fire Department.
It is also necessary to have a minimum height of 1.65 m for male candidates and 1.60 m for female candidates; to possess, by the date of inclusion, a completed or equivalent high school education; and to have a National Driver’s License, with a valid permit classified at least in Category “B”, by the date specified in the Announcement for the submission of documents for inclusion in the Military Fire Department.

The firefighter is a professional responsible for prevention, combating, and controlling fires, as well as performing rescues and providing assistance in emergency situations. Their work involves a series of activities such as rescuing people and animals, responding to traffic accidents, conducting rescues in high-risk areas, providing pre-hospital care, and intervening in natural disasters, such as floods and landslides.
Additionally, soldiers also develop educational actions to guide the population on safety measures and fire prevention, conducting inspections and assessments of buildings to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Registration to work at the Fire Department is now open, and interested candidates can apply until April 24, on the Fundatec website, the organizing body of the selection process. The registration fee for the vacancies that allow professionals to work at the Fire Department is R$ 118.79. The tests are scheduled for June 22.
Candidates will be evaluated through stages such as the Intellectual Exam, conducted by FUNDATEC, Health Exam, conducted by a Special Military Health Police Board (JPMSE), Physical Capacity Exam, conducted by Fundatec and consisting of two mandatory stages, with candidates deemed FIT in Phase 2 being called. Finally, there is the Psychological Exam, consisting of two mandatory stages, Group Testing and Individual Interview.
Selection Process to Work at the Fire Department
With a duration of 4 hours, the Intellectual Exam will consist of a Theoretical-Objective Test of a classificatory and eliminatory nature, with 80 multiple-choice questions (A, B, C, D, and E), distributed in Portuguese Language, Mathematics and Logical Reasoning, Natural Sciences (Chemistry, Physics, and Biology), General Knowledge (History and Geography), Computer Science, Specific Knowledge (Human Rights and Citizenship), and Specific Legislation.
The Physical Capacity Exam for the Firefighters RS announcement will consist of two stages: 1st General Physical Aptitude Test (ordinary) and 2nd Specific Physical Aptitude Test of the Fire Department, of an eliminatory nature.
The first test consists of a Pull-up Test, Abdominal Curl Test (rowing), and a Running Test. The second test, for candidates wishing to work at the Fire Department, will consist of a Rope Climb Test, Rescue Simulation Test, and Swimming Test.
